Heavy Mortar Tank |
“ | Banished heavy tank armed with a plasma mortar. A passenger can make use of a rapid-fire plasma cannon for close-range defense. The Wraith floats over the ground with a gravity propulsion drive and can move (slowly) in any direction. The drive's boost move is often used to ram targets that get too close.[3] | ” |
The Bolroci Workshop Mortar Tank is a variant in the Wraith family of armoured vehicles employed by the Banished.[1]
OverviewEdit
Design detailsEdit
The Bolroci design of Wraith is built off a base of old Covenant-era Zurdo-pattern Wraith tanks, augmented with multiple layers of overlapping armour plating to help increase the vehicle's resiliency. As with other Banished Wraith designs, the removal of old Covenant ecclesiastical regulators has allowed the vehicle an overall marked performance increase in most areas - including speed, mobility, and weaponry.[1]
ArmamentsEdit
Bolroci Workshop Wraiths are armed with a plasma mortar and a shielded plasma repeater turret for use against lighter targets.[2]
Development historyEdit
Developed by the Bolroci Workshop and manufactured by Forge of Raansek, the Bolroci Workshop Mortar Tank is one of the most common designs fielded by the Banished.[1]
Operational historyEdit
Bolroci Workshop Wraiths were used by the Banished against the scattered remnants of the UNSC during the Battle for Zeta Halo.[2]
Production notesEdit
The Wraith's secondary plasma repeater turret is a design originally created and seen as the the unfinished plasma cannon model on the Phelent-pattern Revenant, a vehicle cut from Halo 4. It later returned in Halo 5: Guardians as the secondary armament on the Muv'te-pattern anti-aircraft Wraith.

List of appearancesEdit
- Halo Infinite (First appearance)
NotesEdit
- ^ Given that Banished Wraiths were augmented from Covenant Wraiths, the "plasma mortar" listed in specifications of Banished Wraiths in the Halo Encyclopedia (2022 edition) were likely intended to be "heavy plasma mortars".
- ^ While described simply as a "plasma cannon" in the Halo Encyclopedia (2022), the weapon's model is that of the plasma repeater turret.
