The Vancouver-class courier is a non-combat spacecraft often employed by the Unified Earth Government as a cargo transport and diplomatic shuttle.
Overview
Design details
The Vancouver-class is capable of slipspace travel. The diplomatic shuttle Han was equipped with 40 cryo-chambers, allowing for a crew of two and a passenger count of 48.[1] Though the ship was designed for passenger comfort and had showers and a rotating midsection providing gravity,[Note 1] this left less room for the crew. In addition, the bridge was extremely small and lacked any form of artificial gravity. It had no combat capabilities or defensive measures.[2][3]
Usage
The Vancouver-class is a fast, versatile and reliable courier ship. This combined with its cargo size and unique sensor features has allowed it to gain a large number of governmental contracts, and maintains a strong presence in the Inner Colonies.[1]
