- "HuCiv's GENET coupe redefines compact luxury."
- — From an advertisment of the Genet
The Genet is a popular high-volume coupe manufactured by HuCiv.[1]
Overview
Specifications
The Genet is a compact, high-volume coupe, with several model trims ranging from eco-accessible, to track-ready.[1] Like nearly all cars used in New Mombasa and elsewhere on Earth, the Genet includes roadware that allows the car to pilot itself while driving and keeps the car connected to the planet's surveillance grid.[citation needed]
Variants
- 1500XLD: This model comes in several colors. Some of which are red, blue, and green.[2]
- 1500XLD-S: This model is utilized by the New Mombasa Police Department. This variant is slightly larger than the 1500XLD.[2]
Operational history
On April 6 2525, the Genet was advertised on Intersystem News.[3]
The vehicle was the most popular personal transport in New Mombasa for three years preceding 2550.[2]
Usage
A number of municipal law enforcement agencies have contracted HuCiv to provide durable high-performance police interceptors based off of the Genet, including the New Mombasa Police Department.[1]
Gameplay
Halo 3: ODST
Multiple types of Genets are seen abandoned on the streets throughout the campaign. The lights of the NMPD Genets in Mombasa Streets will flash to indicate points of interest, to indicate Audio Logs close by, for instance. Every Genet in the game has the same number on the left side of its side windows: 1031. Additionally, one Genet was seen at least partially destroyed due to passenger compartment damage, but lights were still functioning.
Halo: Spartan Strike
In Halo: Spartan Strike, the Genet appears on the streets of New Mombasa. The vehicle can be destroyed by using a Grizzly to run over it. This, however, will damage you due to the explosion that occurs when it is destroyed.
Trivia
- Like many human vehicles, particularly those used by the UNSC, the Genet is named after an animal. A genet is a small cat-like carnivore native to Africa.
- The license plates in the vehicles throughout the city contain multiple references to the characters of the series in Halo 3: ODST.
