Weapon typeEdit
I'm not a hundred percent certain, but that revolver looks to me like an old Wild Western-style .45 Magnum Colt Single-Action Army (aka Colt Peacemaker), or perhaps maybe a .357 Magnum Colt Python Revolver or a lastly, a Smith & Wesson Model 686. I did as much research as I could based upon the appearance of the weapon, though I wish I/we had a little more data to go on. Click the links, look at the image, compare them side-by-side, and you decide. My personal opinion, it's probably one of the latter two than the initial. --Xamikaze330 [Transmission|Commencing] 13:40, 23 April 2014 (EDT)Xamikaze330
- Maybe someone can ask Schlerf on twitter what it's supposed to be. We don't want another Uzi mystery.Sith-venator Wavingstrider (Commlink) 13:56, 23 April 2014 (EDT)
- Thanks for that. I just did. No idea when to expect a reply, but hopefully it'll be soon. We need a weapons expert more qualified than myself to try to identify this revolver. --Xamikaze330 [Transmission|Commencing] 14:10, 23 April 2014 (EDT)Xamikaze330
- I like to think of myself as a Gun Guru, but revolvers and pump-action shotguns look so similar to me. If Schlerf doesn't reply we could always ask the opinion of someone from http://www.imfdb.org/wiki/Main_Page this amazing place.Sith-venator Wavingstrider (Commlink) 14:13, 23 April 2014 (EDT)
- I like that place too. I visit it frequently to look up action and war films to find what weapons were used. And I too also like to consider myself a "Gun Guru" (Weapons Expert sounds better personally), as I have spent a large part of my life studying modern weapons throughout the history of warfare. But I'm kind of at a loss for what this weapon is. --Xamikaze330 [Transmission|Commencing] 15:40, 23 April 2014 (EDT)Xamikaze330
- I'm not confident enough in my old western gun knowledge past "Single Action Army or similar" for this either. I'll go ask on IMFDB (I'm also there often), but before I do, is the main picture the only shot of it in the comic, or are there others, even tiny or not well seen? More detail and angles are always better. Alex T Snow (talk) 01:10, 24 April 2014 (EDT)

- I have to throw out here one more possibility: that the weapon pictured is probably a .44 Magnum Colt Anaconda. Probably. Still waiting for some more second opinions for other weapon experts. --Xamikaze330 [Transmission|Commencing] 17:43, 25 April 2014 (EDT)Xamikaze330
RE: RollbackEdit
Just a message directed for the anon who's adding that the revolver is a Colt, as the rollback option doesn't let me input a reason. Unfortunately, Halopedia doesn't do speculation, so we can't input any of this info into the page without a valid source. Additionally, remember to use the preview button while editing!
