Rampancy.net, originally known as The Core when it was launched on May 26th, 1999, is one of the most popular Halo fansites for the Halo series and was credited in Halo 3 for being one of the "Biggest Community Supporters". It was originally maintained by two webmasters, Ferrex and Noctavis.[1]
The website hosts for all Bungie-related titles and content developed by spinoff studios such as Wideload and Certain Affinity. As a Halo fansite, the site provides a database of user-created forged maps as well as a database of fan-transcribed sheet music. It also hosts the in-depth "Halo Impressions" series that provides commentary on the games level by level, and a podcast series titled "Anger Sadness & Envy".
Trivia
- During the development of Halo: Combat Evolved, the original incarnation of the "Weekly Update" was actually a feature that appeared not at Bungie.net but was rotated amongst a circle of fansites, one of them being Rampancy.net.
- It holds one of the most extensive archive of music sheets which can be downloaded for a member's user profile. Piano pieces such as Never Forget, and Love and a Piano can be found. Please note that the downloads are only available once you become a member of the website.
