RE: Why not protect the page?

Because protecting a page with the reasoning "we don't want anyone editing it" would be misuse of user rights. It is only appropriate in cases of extreme vandalism or continuous edit wars/misdirected edits.--Spartacus ^{Talk • Contribs} 18:07, 24 September 2013 (EDT)
