Halo Xbox One

All the official sources, like Halo Waypoint, refer to this game as Halo Xbox One instead of Halo 5. Has anyone confirmed that it's called Halo 5? Bioniclepluslotr 18:32, 10 June 2013 (EDT)

I can't reasonably seeing them calling the game anything else, but you're right. At no point has 343 ever used the title "Halo 5". Until they do, we should refrain from referring to it as such.--  Rusty-112 Admin comm 19:17, 10 June 2013 (EDT)
I agree. While Occam's Razor basically screams that the game is Halo 5, we need to wait for confirmation. Until then, Halo Xbox One will have to suffice. --Courage never dies. (talk) 19:29, 10 June 2013 (EDT)
https://twitter.com/Xbox/status/344182593647964160 Link refers to it as Halo 5Death will follow you...but you can survive 19:36, 10 June 2013 (EDT)
A hashtag isn't an official title announcement. Besides, that thread wasn't even started by Xbox. That hashtag has existed for months as people speculate. I'll give the other users some time to comment before moving the page.--  Rusty-112 Admin comm 19:48, 10 June 2013 (EDT)
Even if I strongly think that this game is Halo 5, there is still no official information as it being called Halo 5 or being the second installment in the Reclaimer Trilogy, etc. But instead of immediately moving the page, maybe we should just wait for the next Bulletin or a press release from Halo Waypoint (something more than just the trailer). I'm pretty sure that 343 will confirm or deny it. Well, either that, or they don't know how to properly name a game / announce it. If this week's Bulletin doesn't clearly state that the game is Halo 5, then change it to Halo Xbox One or whatever. Or we may as well do it today, but it will possibly be changed again. Edit: Well it seems that even the Waypoint forum is called "Halo Xbox One"... This really doesn't make any sense to me. If it were Halo 5, why wouldn't they call it such? And if it were a spin-off set between H4 and H5, then why wouldn't they use a subtitle...Imrane-117 (talk) 20:01, 10 June 2013 (EDT)

New Machine to be revealed as the war sphinx?

when i saw the trailer, i noticed that this thing reminds a bit of a sphinx quoted in the books of greg bear, could it be that in this new halo they will show the true power of the forerunner? Also, its eyes are orange as the didact's army, could this mean that he really survived the epilogue of halo 4?

1) The prevailing theory is that it's either a War Sphinx or a Seeker, so you're probably right. 2) Orange seems to be the default highlight color for Promethean technology. While the Didact may have survived - I hope he did - we don't know for sure. --Courage never dies. (talk) 19:29, 10 June 2013 (EDT)
If I'm not mistaken, war sphinxes are also Promethean technology. --Xamikaze330 [Transmit|Files] 19:51, 10 June 2013 (EDT)Xamikaze330
They are. Whatever the machine is, it's undoubtedly Promethean. What I meant to say is that the orange "eyes" don't indicate that the Didact is alive, as the OP suggested. --Courage never dies. (talk) 20:14, 10 June 2013 (EDT)

First appearances

Why is the Forerunner machine listed as a first appearance? If it's a Seeker or a War sphinx it's not a first appearance. I think we should wait declaring this as such until we have some sort of confirmation. Similarly with the planet. It may be a first appearance. It may not.We don't know --Weeping Angel (talk) 20:08, 10 June 2013 (EDT)
