Merge proposal: battle of Voi

This page should really be moved in with the existing Battle of Voi page, and the current writeup here moved to the relevant section of that page to assist with the need of additional work that page needs. As it stands, the crash-landing of the Conviction isn't really a separate event in of itself, but rather part of the conflict going on in the region that second. For comparison, I'd use the Landing on Installation 04 page, in which the UNSC capture of Alpha Base is given a dedicated section as opposed to being given an entire battle page itself.

To help offset this, however, the I04 battle navbox has a link to the page First Battle of Alpha Base, which itself redirects to the Alpha Base segment of the Landing on I04 page. I'd propose this page be treated similarly, allowing us to link directly to the relevant section of the Battle of Voi page.

In creating the current Battle of Installation 04 page reworks for a better comprehensive look at the various conflicts of the campaign, any battle which has recieved numerous points of view from multiple distinct sources (IE appearing in Halo CE(A), Terminals, The Flood, the Adjuncts, the Graphic Novel, Fireteam Raven etc) is given its own page, but events with only a single level to really use for reference (such as the Library mission in Halo CE) will simply be sub-sections of the larger Battle of Installation 04 page, as there is little further detail necessary to go into. As it stands, I don't believe there are enough distinct depictions of this outbreak separate from the overall actions at Voi to warrant a completely unique page.

In sum, the Battle of Voi page needs a good rework as it stands, and the information being written up (in good form!) here would be better put to use in cleaning up that page. BaconShelf (talk) 16:11, December 29, 2019 (EST)

I'm of the personal opinion that pages should exist as long as there is a large amount of info or it is distinct enough from other events, even if it's only from one source. An example I ran into working through some of the other battle pages is with Halo Nation's old "Raid on Sword Base" page (a page about Noble Team's actions during the mission "The Package" in Reach) and the Operation: WHITE GLOVE page. While Noble Team's actions are slightly different than the goals of WHITE GLOVE, there wasn't enough extra information to really differentiate it.

In the case of this page, I don't know if there is enough separate information. We have Halo 3, maybe Spartan Assault and I think New Blood with some distinct info. Beyond I don't know if that would be enough still.

If more information can be provided, I would say its fine. Otherwise, I agree with Bacon and maybe we should merge it with the current (or a reworked version) of the Battle of Voi page.CMDR RileySV (talk) 20:57, December 29, 2019 (EST)
