Region?[edit]
The introductory text says Pakistan is "in a region known as the Middle East," which is inaccurate. Pakistan is only considered a part of the "Greater" Middle East by the former Bush Administration (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greater_Middle_East), not the Middle East per se. However, seeing as this wiki is written from the point of view of the UNSC, it stands to reason that we should use the UN classifications, rather than those of one Presidential administration that is no longer in office.
In the UN regional system, Pakistan is placed in the Asia region, South Asia subregion (along with India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh). If necessary, can provide links to .PDFs generated by the cartographic teams at UNHCR, UN DPKO Cartographic Section, UNOSAT and OCHA as sources, some of them produced by me.
And before anyone uses the "but it's a Muslim country" justification, Israel is considered part of the Middle East and it is Jewish.193.134.242.13 15:41, January 20, 2010 (UTC)
