Talk:Halo Wars 3 (rejected pitch)
From Halopedia, the Halo wiki
Proposal: Should this page exist?
[Note: this proposal was written when the page was simply "Halo Wars 3", before it was moved to the cancelled pitch title. LAbelling it as a cancelled pitch I'm a bit more ok with but I figured I'd bring the issue up anyway.]
I'm not sure if this page is one we should keep on this wiki, at least in the mainspace (the info absolutely deserves to be archived one way or another). The fact that the original posts were uploaded then very quickly removed suggests that Microsoft/ 343 do not want the original art and info to be widely spread. Unlike, say, Haggar, 343 has never commented on the topic of this art, and I believe there is likely a reason for that. Furthermore, game pitches are done all the time, and this may simply be a pitch for an idea on a potential Halo Wars 3 or something otherwise. Either way, I'm not sure I feel comfortable keeping this page up if it seems like 343/ Microsoft tried to kill the original upload. For me, this would count as a leak, and as such would not be considered acceptable for an article. It's a shame, because it was some truly great art that got uploaded, but I feel like the risk to the wiki might not be worth it.
I'd appreciate some thoughts from other users though. Hopefully I'm just paranoid. BaconShelf (talk) 20:07, 5 February 2019 (EST)
- Fickle ground indeed. While I wouldn't be up for removal because of the image's deletion (ArtStation stuff can go down for various reasons and this looks to be more artist related rather than a subject of legality), I would because it's vague in content and context, or should maybe be moved to Halo Wars 2's article at the most as it was re-credited as Halo Wars 2 art. Microsoft hasn't struck anyone else down with any legal hammer to remove the art or the credit to it. Dunno if they'd deem it worth it to, or not. Who knows. To reiterate, I think the page should "go", but its content should be moved elsewhere if possible.

- If I may propose, this content can be moved under a new section in Halo Wars 2 titled "Release and reception". Any search for "Halo Wars 3" ought to be redirected to that new section. — subtank 22:25, 5 February 2019 (EST)
