The Halo 4 Launch Gameplay Trailer is a trailer of Halo 4. It was released two weeks before the game's release. It shows several aspects of the campaign and multiplayer.[1]
Transcript
Open to John-117 grasping hold of a holographic representation of Cortana contained within a portable holotank, whom are both standing within the wreckage of the Template:UNSCship.
- John-117 (voiceover): "Where are we?"
Cut to various vistas scenery inside of Requiem. Cut to John-117 looking at a Halo Installation.
- Didact (voiceover): "And so you come at last."
AN ANCIENT HATRED
Cut to a Cryptum rising beyond a cliff. A startled John quickly turns around and upholsters his assault rifle in alarm. The Cryptum flies away at a supersonic speed.
- John-117 (voiceover): "Cortana, what is it?"
CONFINED FOR A MILLENNIA
Cut to John-117 entering a Forerunner chamber. Fades to John inspecting a Cryptum.
UNLEASHED IN A MOMENT
Cut to John activating it, which then subsequently emits a large burst of energy. He takes cover.
- Didact (voiceover): "We are Forerunners, guardians of all that exists."
Cut to multiple Promethean Knights translocate to the vicinity of John, each on a pillar. John takes aim at one of them. It translocate and disappears.
Cut to the John's HUD as a Promethean Knight tackles John and open its face-plate, showing its hidden blue screaming skull.
GAME CRITICS AWARDS BEST OF E3 2012
Cuts to a chaotic Dominion game on Haven. Cut to a multiplayer game on Meltdown, where a Spartan-IV is using the Hardlight Shield to protect himself from a Mantis' attack. Cut to a Capture the Flag game on Ragnarok, where a Warthog is speeding to Blue Base with a Red flag carrier on its passenger's seat.

Cut to John-117 sliding off the hull of an unknown Covenant ship at a high altitude. He uses his combat knife to grasp hold of it. Cut to John performing an assassination on a Promethean Knight: he detaches the Knight's blade and stabs the Knight with its own weapon.

Cut to John-117 as he jumps off a malfunctioning Ghost. Cut to John using a jet pack to get up a sand hill. Cut to a Promethean Knight killing a Ghost operator by slashing its blade at the operator. Cut to a Knight as its jumps to attack an enemy with its blade. Cut to another Knight as it slashes its opponent. Cut to John taking cover from the aforementioned Cryptum. Cut to armor pieces fastening around the arms of a large, six-fingered figure. The figure then uses a constraint field to capture and immobilize John, causing him to float through the air for several meters. Cut to a view from behind the figure's shoulder, who now inspects the still-immobilized John.
- Didact (voiceover): "The Forerunners have returned."
Cuts to Didact's "unbound" icon, glowing orange and spinning upside down.
AN ANCIENT EVIL AWAKENS
The icon flashes and cut to black.
