Infinity is the name of the multiplayer component of Halo 4 consisting of competitive gameplay and the episodic cooperative campaign, Spartan Ops. It's a reference to the UNSC Infinity, an integral part of the campaign and the base of operations for the SPARTAN-IV supersoldiers, the "avatars" for Infinity multiplayer.
