The Ardent Prayer was a Covenant Corvette-class vessel in service during the Human-Covenant War, and was deployed during the Fall of Reach.[1]
Overview
The ship was one of the main targets of Operation: UPPER CUT, and was boarded by multiple Sabre craft in an effort to plant a Shaw-Fujikawa Translight Engine on board, which would be used to destroy a nearby Covenant supercarrier. During the mission, the ship was engaged by the UNSC frigate Savannah. The Savannah jammed the Ardent Prayer's communications, while the Sabres damaged her engines and destroyed her Seraph escort so she couldn't call for help. The Ardent Prayer destroyed the Savannah, but not before a boarding party had landed. The UNSC team eliminated the bridge crew and set the ship on a refueling track with the supercarrier Long Night of Solace. The operation succeeded, and Ardent Prayer, along with the supercarrier, was destroyed by the rigged Slipspace drive.
Trivia
- Ardent Prayer is the setting of the Halo: Reach multiplayer map Zealot, and the Firefight map Corvette.
