Mare Insularum

Template:Ratings Template:SeeWikipedia Mare Insularum is a lunar mare located in the Insularum basin just south of Mare Imbrium. Miranda Keyes's apartment was located there on Luna when she studied at the UNSC Naval Academy. "Mare Insularum" means "sea of islands" in Latin. Its name came from the fact that old astronomists from antiquity believed that the moon had water on it, and that Mare Insularum was actually a sea.
