M145D Rhino
From Halopedia, the Halo wiki
The M-145D Rhino is a UNSC artillery tank. A secret, prototypical plasma-based version saw service in 2531.
Design
The Rhino looks fairly similar to the M808B Main Battle Tank, though it features several notable differences. While it utilizes a similar bogey system to the M80B, the Rhino has six track sets rather than four, with two additional tracks being located at the rear of the vehicle. It is also greater in size and has a more robust gun turret.
Most models are armed with the 320mm Zeus-class cannon. However, during the Human-Covenant War, some were armed with a prototypical plasma cannon. Two stabilizers deploy from the rear of the vehicle during long-range bombardment.
Deployment history
The Rhino saw limited use during the Human-Covenant War. During the First Battle of Arcadia, several plasma-based Rhinos stored aboard the Template:UNSCship were used to disable a large Covenant energy shield dome that was covering an excavation site near an Office of Naval Intelligence facility. These Rhinos' plasma cannons disabled the shield dome, allowing UNSC forces to advance into the excavation site.
