A Landmine is a stationary explosive that appears in Halo: Reach. Landmines may be placed in Forge Mode, and they’re an integral and multifaceted part of the overall experience of Race.[1] It functions similar to that of the trip mine, a usable equipment in Halo 3's Forge Mode and other Multiplayer experiences.

Trivia

  • Landmines can be activated by proximity. If you drive or walk close enough to one, they will explode after a short delay. This can be used to stop any player following close behind you.
  • Landmines will typically appear in the Race gametype on most maps.
  • Landmines can be placed in midair via the "fixed" feature. This can be useful in making a base resistant to aerial attacks.
  • The Landmine is the most sensitive explosive in Halo: Reach. Even a slow-rolling Frag Grenade will detonate it.
