Official Marvel Summary
NEW STORY! NEW CREATIVE TEAM! Comics legend Peter David and up-and-coming artist Eric Nguyen bring a whole new HALO story to life! When the colony planet Ariel sends out a mysterious distress signal, it’s up to the UNSC’s elite, highly skilled special-ops Marines, the Orbital Drop Shock Troopers from the 105th, to find out what’s happening. Also known as ODSTs or “Helljumpers,” these soldiers are some of the toughest in the galaxy…and some of the roughest as well. When the distress signal comes, two Helljumpers will find themselves at the center of the mystery on Ariel, and before it’s resolved, they’ll have to put their friendship and their lives on the line…
The story begins at an ODST drop above the planet Ariel, the narrator talks about how you are always alone. It then jumps back in time to an Archaelogical Colony on the surface of the planet, a doomed reasercher escapes a deadly covenant attack on the surface, she stammers inside and calls for help.
Meanwhile on a UNSC frigate Romeo (An ODST from Halo 3: ODST) and another marine talk about the Spartan project and how the stories are fake. One of the stories was when the Master Chief was young, just after the augmentation on the UNSC Atlas, he was bullied into fighting with 4 other ODST and killed everyone of them , this part of the story shows a picture of John fighting the ODST. As the story stops Romeo and the marine named Brimley get into a fight but is soon broke up by Dutch. He and Dutch are then confined to there quarters. The story then jumps back to the fight on Arial and the Narrator talks about how Dutch and his wife met further on it shows dutch and the same wife speaking on video communications, the ODST on Arial find that the place is trashed, but no signs of bodies- humans, covenant or the flood. They find one lone civilian body but he was killed by natural causes. It then concludes with a picture of the next Issue.
