UNSC Navy uniforms
From Halopedia, the Halo wiki
Members of the UNSC Navy wear a variety of uniforms for the purposes of identification, formality, comfort, and practicality.
Dress uniform
The UNSC Navy dress uniform differs little from those worn by members of the United States Navy five hundred years previously. It consists of a white jacket, white trousers, and a peaked cap for males and a tricorn hat for femalesranked Petty Officer and above. Both hats are decorated with an officer crest; a silver shield over two crossed gold fouled anchors, surmounted by a silver eagle. Those ranked Commander and above wear gold "scrambled egg" oak leaves on their caps, while Flag Officers may wear aiguillettes with the jacket. Medals and ribbons are worn on the left hand side of this uniform.
Service uniform
Officers
2531
The 2531 service uniform consisted of a double-breasted olive drab tunic, bearing the seal of the United Nations Space Command Defense Force, with the wearer's surname printed above the seal. It was worn with matching trousers, a pistol belt, and a cap also bearing the UNSCDF seal. Should the officer be in command of a starship, the Ship Emblem would be worn on the right shoulder. Medals and ribbons were not worn with this uniform.
2553
The 2553 service dress variant consists of a gray shirt and a matching pair of trousers, secured with a belt. In times of war a pistol is worn on the belt. A name tag displaying the officer's last name is mounted on the right hand side of the uniform while ribbons are worn on the left hand side. Rank insignia is displayed on the shirt cuffs, collar, and shoulder boards. Medals and caps are typically not worn with this uniform, though Fleet Admiral Sir Terrence Hood was an exception to this rule.
It should be noted that Captain Jacob Keyes wore an unusual uniform variant that was coloured a lighter gray than usual. Rank insignia was worn with ribbons and a name tag on the left hand side of the uniform.
Enlisted
In 2552, non-commissioned officers wore a reddish-coloured variant of the uniform that apparently did not display ribbons or rank insignia.
These uniforms offer only a little protection and are not meant for combat personnel. Though they do come in a variety of colors such as blue, red, orange, purple, and yellow. Such colors differ for what job they do, though they are not known for sure, personnel wearing orange, blue, and red can be seen operating computers on the bridge, cryo bays, and anywhere else.
