Template talk:Levels

From Halopedia, the Halo wiki

Me thinks this template should be split into two, one for campaign levels, and one for multiplayer --«pacø» 03:59, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

don't break the template

hey, nobody replace the ! with a | it messes up the page. And make sure you use preview before you save it. ~ ~ ~ ~ 10:27, November 4, 2009 (UTC)

Actually, if you replace the ! with |, it removes the Collapsible feature. Also, doing the mentioned will remove the title of the template. So, please don't replace it!- 5əb'7aŋk(7alk) 10:40, November 4, 2009 (UTC)
That said, the template seems kind of messy when all of the text is shifted to the right hand side. Unless it does not appear so on pages, would their be a way to keep the text closer without removing the collapsable feature? Being user friendly does take preference, but if this is working anything like the the stub template... *shudders* ~Now You Know, ~ That Flattery Will Get You Nowhere.~ 10:48, November 4, 2009 (UTC)Blade bane
Hmm... I'll try to fix this.- 5əb'7aŋk(7alk) 10:53, November 4, 2009 (UTC)
Fix it like you did the stub template, no one will ever notice :3 ~Now You Know, ~ That Flattery Will Get You Nowhere.~ 10:54, November 4, 2009 (UTC)Blade bane
Yeah the messy thing is why I said to use the preview button. I didn't know that it removed the collapsable feature, Just that I couldn't understand it when it was all piled up over it's self. (and yeah it looks the same in articles as it does here) ~ ~ ~ ~ 10:59, November 4, 2009 (UTC)

Good fix Subtank. ~ ~ ~ ~ 11:35, November 4, 2009 (UTC)

ODST levels and confirmation.

Thunderstream328: They haven't been confirmed yet. That's why they're not here yet.

If they haven't been "confirmed" yet, then why do they even have their own articles? Plus, if the names have been shown in the official achievement list, i think that's pretty much a confirmation. I doubt Bungie would change the names or anything anymore, at this point.

Also, what harm would it make if they were shown in the template? It's not like they can't be corrected even if they're somehow changed in the final game. I think the achievement list should be treated as factual information until or unless proven otherwise.

It wouldn't really be a big deal, but without them in the template, they're too hard to find from Halopedia, as there are basically no other links to them.--Jugus 14:15, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

Before Halo 3 was released, the achievements had been discovered, and we were all under the impression that the achievement names were the names of the levels. They weren't. THAT'S why the names of the achievements don't go in the Template. So leave it. --T 3 2 8 File:Bouncy Wiki Logo.gif 14:21, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

Size

This thing is getting huge. Perhaps levels for games irrelevant to the page it's used on could be left hidden like in the spoiler template? I've seen stuff like that on other wikis. --Dragonclaws(talk) 22:06, September 7, 2009 (UTC)

I think that the levels of the interactive strategy game are unneeded... really, wtf? - JEA13 [iTalk] 22:10, September 7, 2009 (UTC)
To DC: I'll update this template... soon. To JEA: I don't know who added those... :P- 5əb'7aŋk(7alk) 22:15, September 7, 2009 (UTC)
To make things easier, I will remove them, they occupy a lot of space apparently. - JEA13 [iTalk] 08:51, September 8, 2009 (UTC)

Organization

I was thinking... this template might be easier to view if the insert-able horizontal line was used to break up the sections of this template. For instance, one could be placed to separate the levels of each game (like between Halo: CE multiplayer and Halo 2 campaign... between Halo 2 multiplayer and Halo 3 campaign...). Doing this would give your eyes a place to focus on easier. Anubis 10545 02:50, February 27, 2010 (UTC)

Perhaps we could do something like this?

Link. Anyone know how to do this? I just quickly made that up on Wikipedia using the standard Navbox template over there, and was pleased with the result, and think it would be a much better way to represent this template over here. I suck at this type of thing, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks, G35cpe 23:31, July 23, 2010 (UTC)

I am sure that is the very thing we have here. :-P --SPARTAN-125 Cally99117
It looks the same, only with a more Wikipedia-y colour approach. Hell, we use the exact same navbox template, to.-- Forerunner 12:16, July 24, 2010 (UTC)
Ours here looks way more bulky, I think we should try and tone down the bulk. G35cpe 18:50, July 24, 2010 (UTC)
Yup, the same template, yet different results. lulz. Have you take the MediaWiki version into account? Wikipedia is using the MediaWiki 1.16 while Wikia (and all other wikis) is using the old 1.15.- Sketchist 19:10, July 24, 2010 (UTC)
I think it's something to do with a .css stylesheet on Wikipedia, but I don't know much when it comes to that.
I can test experiment on my own Wiki, though, and maybe get this worked out. Thanks. G35cpe 19:39, July 24, 2010 (UTC)
