Halo Zero 2 was a planned but never completed platformer Halo fan game. Neither Halo Zero, nor Halo Zero 2 are endorsed by Bungie or Microsoft. It was going to be the sequel to the 2D side-scrolling game Halo Zero made by Dob entertainment (ex-Biohazard software) using Multimedia Fusion 2.

On the 1st of February, Dobermann hosted a new site with a new beta and the project had been renamed as 2D halo.Template:Fact On the 5th of April, Dobermann announced that due to the bandwidth costs of maintaining his site and having no funds to pay it, the site would be shut down by May 31st 2009 and that Halo Zero 2 was being cancelled.[1] The website was later shut down on May 31st, as planned, and Halo Zero 2 has been cancelled.

Beta versions

Dobermann had made 3 beta versions before the game was cancelled. When the old website closed the betas were supposedly lost.Template:Fact However, there are some videos on You-Tube about it. In 2006, Dobermann released the 1st beta at his old website, the Veteran Lounge, with no mouse aim. It was supposed to have lots of more vehicles and levels, as well as having a Metal Slug style interface and sprites. Later he released a 2nd beta which was released at his newer website, Biohazard Software. It was more like Halo Zero, but with more weapons and still more vehicles but continued to have no mouse aim. On February 1st, Dobermann released the last and 3rd beta version released at his newer website, Dob Entertainment. Everything was the same as the 2nd beta except for the interface and mouse aim.Template:Fact

Dobermann said the game actually did not have a storyline. He said he only did some artwork about possible mission objectives. But we can be sure that the story was planned to take place on Reach (at least in the beginning) and you won't play as Master Chief.

Controls

The controls would have been the keyboard and the mouse, just like its predecessor, Halo Zero.

Trivia

Miscellaneous

  • It was confirmed by Dobermann that there would have been skulls.Template:Fact
  • It's possible that there would have been armor permutations.
  • Dobermann said that there was going to be Flood, which would mean that players possibly would have played on the Halos.Template:Fact

Glitches

  • There was a glitch in the Halo Zero 2 beta where if you grabbed the Battle Rifle, empty its magazine, and keep firing to the left, it would continue to fire even though the ammo counter would say zero shots left. The bullets would kill enemies, but you could only fire to the left.
  • When standing between the Needler and the Plasma pistol, picking up the Needler would give you a Needler shooting plasma bullets.
