If Bungie doesn't respond, you could also email it to Eric Nylund. (www.ericnylund.net) -ED 01:36, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

He's probably seen it. I'd say it's worth a shot. --Dragonclaws 06:18, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

Well its been weeks and Paul hasnt responded. Can someone email this to Eric for me? I mean considering this was my idea and I wrote this lettter?--JohnSpartan117 08:14, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

"Lord" isnt Hood's actual title, its supposed to be a nick name.--SPARTAN-117 03:33, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

  • Not according to Eric -- Yamanba 05:22, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

He probly got nighted by the british queen of there time.--Ryanngreenday 14:06, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

  • Thats what im thinking but we have no evidence wit this. I think the fix we have now works best.--

Eric Confirms

All this new information proves is that Eric based the ranking system on the American system, something I've stated all along. However, as shown with certain "Anomalies" we don't know the exact Bungie ranking system. Therefore as I've stated multiple times in the past, if the ranking system isn't used in the Halo Universe it shouldn't exist on Halopedia. Ranks which now exist as articles on present day military ranks, (Hence their Realworld Templates) should be deleted because

A)As Eric has confirmed there are "Anomalies" with the UNSC ranking system, and until Bungie releases their ranking system ranks that aren't mentioned in the Halo Universe should be deleted.

B)Halopedia is Not a place to store info about present day military ranks

  • How about we just have articles about the ranks that have been seen in the books and games.?--Ryanngreenday 22:31, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
  • I agree 100% The following ranks that aren't mentioned in the Halo Universe should be deleted:

Ok makes sense, lets delete them.--<font color="gold">SPARTAN-117</font> 08:39, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

"Lord" Hood

I have a possible explanation to what Eric Nylund considers an anomaly in the title of Fleet Admiral Hood. Though I am unaware of the specifics, in present-day U.K., military officers who are knighted are entitled to use the honorif "Sir" or "Lord" in their military title e.g. Sir Admiral Hood/ Lord Admiral Hood. As an American, it is quite likely that Nylund did not know this. The UNSC may not be all American as the rank structure suggests, it may be a blending of cultures (countries). Just a thought. Just realised this idea has been discussed above. Oh well, hope my contribution might shed some light on the issue.Manticore 10:50, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
