Panom's Canticle was a Zanar-pattern light cruiser that was in service with Jul 'Mdama's new Covenant faction.[1] It was captained by Shipmaster Ryn 'Alun.[4]
History
Requiem Campaign
- Main article: Requiem Campaign
On February 14, 2558,[4] the Panom's Canticle launched an assault on the UNSC science team at "The Refuge". The ship sent the Silent Blade to attack the UNSC forces within the facility. While Fireteam Crimson defended the facility from the Covenant ground forces, Fireteam Shadow infiltrated the Canticle. In spite of heavy resistance, the Spartans overloaded the ship's power core, destroying the cruiser and halted the Covenant's attack.[1][3]
Production notes
The cruiser was likely named in reference to Panom, the Sangheili kaidon of the eponymous keep on Hesduros, from which Jul 'Mdama built his forces for his Covenant.[15]
