Halopedia contains copyrighted materials

Materials used by Halopedia are copyrighted by Microsoft Corporation, 343 Industries, Bungie, and third parties that have a direct relationship with the Halo franchise unless stated otherwise. Halopedia asserts that its usage of any copyrighted materials constitutes as fair use under copyright law.

Material that is not copyrighted by Microsoft or by those in direct relationship with the Halo franchise is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike License 3.0 (Unported) (CC-BY-SA).

By editing the wiki, you agree to license any text you add under the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike License 3.0 (Unported). This text may be redistributed or adapted by the general public for any use as long as it is released under a similar license and the contributing authors are attributed. Our authors must agree to be credited through either a list of contributors or a link back to the original article, keeping in mind that the wiki logs all contributions.

Halopedia contains spoilers

Halopedia maintains the policy of documenting all information about the Halo universe in an "omniscient" point of view. Though there is a "spoiler" warning for content of material that has not yet been released, it is by no means used every time spoilers are present. When using Halopedia, you will find that every article contains as complete and thorough information as is possible. If you do not wish to have the details about any Halo related storyline spoiled for you, it would be best if you did not use Halopedia until you have finished playing or reading through the storyline.

Halopedia is not private

All information found on Halopedia is public, including anything you add to an article or on a user page about yourself. In essence, you are publishing all information that you add when interacting with the site.

Halopedia does not require the collection of personal information from its users. Your IP address will be recorded only when you make an edit for the sake of attributing that edit to a specific user. Providing Halopedia with your real name and/or e-mail address is optional. If you do not wish for any information about you to be made public, do not post on Halopedia anywhere. If you do post personally-identifiable information and you wish to have it removed, Halopedia will work with you to remove it.

Halopedia is not censored

Halopedia is a wiki about the Halo universe, including the Halo games, which the majority of are rated "M" by the Entertainment Software Rating Board. This means that Halopedia's content is intended for mature audiences, aged 17 and older. The content of Halopedia's articles and images are therefore also intended for audiences 17 and older. Since the website cannot censor information, it is best to use discretion when viewing Halopedia's content.

Halopedia documents sensitive issues

The Halo franchise deals with subject topics that are sensitive in nature, and that some users may find inappropriate, disturbing or offensive. This includes rape, prostitution and genocide. Halopedia documents all information related to the Halo franchise, including these aspects. As a result, readers should exercise caution when reading Halopedia's articles, as some of the wiki's content could act as a trauma trigger.
