Template:Vehicle Infobox The M12A1 Light Anti-Armor Vehicle,[1][2][3][4] abbreviated as M12A1 LAAV and commonly referred to as the Rocket Warthog, is a UNSC ground vehicle. It is a variant of the M12 Force Application Vehicle.

Design details

The M12A1 LAAV is one of the UNSC's anti-armor vehicles, designed to quickly and efficiently defeat lightly armored vehicles. Despite this, it was rarely employed in the Human-Covenant War.[3] Unlike other M12 variants, the M12A1 can be differentiated by its appearance; the M12A1 Rocket Warthog is painted in black and has yellow paint stripes lined through the base. Its seats are also yellow and its tires have a darker color tone than those of the standard Warthog.

The M12A1 is equipped with a mounted M39 rocket turret[3][4] which fires three M19 SC-HE rockets[1] and requires four seconds to reload when the magazine is depleted.

Appearances

In the E3 2000 Halo: Combat Evolved trailer, the featured Warthog sported a cannon that fired missiles like the M12A1 cannon, but looked like Halo 2's M12G1 LAAV's gauss cannon.

The M12A1 LAAV made its first in-game appearance in Halo PC's multiplayer mode, and was thus later included in the Halo: Combat Evolved multiplayer component of Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

The Rocket Warthog was intended to be featured in Halo: Ground Command as part of an upgrade package for the Warthog vehicle alongside quad-treads from the M862 Arctic Warthog.[4]
