What is posted here goes at the top of every article. It was recently used to announce the migration of halopedia.org to halo.wikia.com. --Dragonclaws 07:35, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
It can also be use for any kind of site-wide announcements relavent to all of Halopedia, but it tends to mess up templates, so we only use it on occasion. -ED 20:34, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
So if you dismiss it, can you...undismiss it? Peace. I'm On Fire! Unfreakinbelievable-2.jpg FeedTheFlame WatchMySmoke 23:17, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
I don't think so... unless you clear your cookies. That'll sign you out, but it will "undismiss" it. güéߣ¥-πéҐøñ¥-ħîИg¥ 23:33, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
But I don't want to toss my cookies :(. Peace. I'm On Fire! Unfreakinbelievable-2.jpg FeedTheFlame WatchMySmoke 23:49, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
The only way to fix it is clearing your cookies. :-) Cheers, RelentlessRecusant 'o the Halopedia Team Fleet_Admiral.jpg TALKSPEAK 00:01, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
You only need to delete your Halopedia cookie, which should be relatively easy to find. --DEMONSPAWNED 22:27, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

YOU shouldn't need to undismiss it... it should only be undismissed when changed. To all Halopedia admins: to undismiss it, increase the number at MediaWiki:Sitenotice id by 1. --NOTASTAFF GPT(talk)(eating) 18:48, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

You can undismiss it, delete the cookie labeled dismissSiteNotice for halo.wikia.com.

You also don't need to update a seperate template, just add ?action=purge to the end of the URL. --Paradox460: eating toast 05:13, 16 February 2008 (UTC)

Era

Now that the era template is in use, we should be careful that the "dismiss" button does not become hidden. This isn't the case now, but perhaps it could be an issue with only one line. --Dragonclaws(talk) 20:03, 10 June 2007 (UTC)

I don't think it is an issue now anyway. --DEMONSPAWNED 22:28, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

Spoilers

I strongly object to posting leaked spoilers of such importance before the actual game comes out. --Dragonclaws(talk) 21:08, 17 September 2007 (UTC)

Agreed, it would just not be a nice thing to do. --DEMONSPAWNED 21:38, 17 September 2007 (UTC)

Facebook

I think the Facebook notice should be posted for a long duration, it can be a very useful tool to bring users more closer together. LovemuffinUserWiki:Lovemuffin|Wiki Userpage]]Edit CountTalk PageContributionsFile:Dancing master chief.gif 20:06, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Current Time

I think inside the site notice or anywhere on a template that will be on all pages, there should by a Current Time template. LovemuffinUserWiki:Lovemuffin|Wiki Userpage]]Edit CountTalk PageContributionsFile:Dancing master chief.gif 00:52, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

Meh... isn't the time on the little bar at the bottom Pryo 'Zarkum My COM My Work My Story 18:30, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

Updates

Why is it that, when this is updated, old stuff is removed. I think some of it should be kept until it is no longer current, like RfA's, RfU's, etc. Pryo 'Zarkum My COM My Work My Story 18:30, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

Because then it would get too full? -- Manticore (talk) 14:39, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

Dismiss

How does one un-dismiss this? I did that at one point and now I never see it D: Pryo 'Zarkum My COM My Work My Story 21:44, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

Administrators can un-dismiss the sitenotice by editing MediaWiki:Sitenotice id. Is there a reason you keep adding new comments to the top of the page? — Manticore [ AdminIRCHOTMBot ] 16:57, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
Sorry, I'm not used to the Talk Pages. I'll make sure to prevent it in the future. Pryo 'Zarkum, [iTalk] [iWork] [iWrite] 22:05, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

Halopedia Warz Time

The Halopedia Warz time schedule says "tomorrow". I suggest using an exact date so people won't get confused, as I think it also said "tomorrow" yesterday. BPL 14:01, 2 May 2009 (UTC)

http://1 227 .com

I highly object to the use of this. It causes trouble navigating our site. --Dragonclaws(talk) 00:26, April 1, 2010 (UTC)

E3 2010

Hmmm... The sitenotice says that the E3 2010 will begin in -9 days which means that it came out on the 3rd of June so why is it like that? --SPARTAN-125 Cally99117

Fixed. ;-) --SPARTAN-125 Cally99117

Featured Quotes

Can I use this to ask people to suggest quotes for the featured quote box on the main page? There aren't many there. --Dragonclaws(talk) 05:37, June 18, 2010 (UTC)
