From Halopedia, the Halo wiki
On Top of the World is the second mission of Halo: Spartan Strike. The mission takes place on a highrise in New Mombasa where a Spartan-IV has been sent to retrieve a Covenant data pad.
Introduction
The downed Covenant Spirit is on the far side of the high-rise roof. Covenant forces have dug in, awaiting extraction. Retrieve the data pad from the Covenant Commander.
Objectives
Upon arriving to the rooftop, the Spartan IV receives instructions from Lieutenant Kwon on the whereabouts of the deta pad. Two ODSTs stand ready in the area with several dead Unggoy behind them. Several Banshees are engaged in combat with Sparrowhawks around the building while a Pelican dropship carrying a Scorpion tank flies nearby. Below, a Scarab can be seen crossing Kilindini Bridge. The Spartan encounters over a dozen Unggoy Minors in this area, as well as an empty Shade turret. Upon engaging the Spartan, the Unggoy begin to take casualties rapidly and are eventually eliminated.
Call the elevator
The Spartan finds a gap between the two main structures. Kwon advices him to call up the elevator to create a bridge. Two Yanme'e fly up to the rooftop and attack the Spartan-IV as he approaches the elevator panel.
Hold out
As the elevator climbs it way to the top, several Yanme'e arrive to the area and more Unggoy are dropped by Spirit dropships. After 1 minute and 15 seconds, the elevator arrives.
Reach the crashed Spirit
As the Spartan-IV crosses the improvised bridge, a Covenant squad comprised of several Unggoy and one Sangheili Minor. Upon desposing of the Covenant squad, the Spartan finds the way blocked again, this time by a set of barricades.
Clear the area
Kwon sends a Hornet with a satchel charge meant to destroy the barricade. However, the charge cannot be delivered until the Spartan eliminates a Yanme'e squad that just arrived to the rooftop. Two Scorpion tanks come into view in the bridge below, engaging several Banshees, Ghosts and a Phantom.
Retrieve the satchel
Soon, the Yanme'e proof to be no match for the Spartan. The Hornet lands and the explosive charge is taken by the supersoldier.
Plant the satchel charge
The Spartan-IV quickly takes the charge to the barricade and destoys it, clearing the path to the data pad.
Take out the Elite Commander
At the far end of the rooftop, the Sangheili Commander and two Unggoy await the Spartan-IV. The first Unggoy operating a Shade turret attacks the Spartan, who in turn kills him and moves on to take out the other Unggoy and the Sangheili that are hiding in the wreackage of the crashed Spirit .
Retrieve the data pad
After being killed, the Sangheili Commander drops the data pad on the floor. The supersoldier moves to rerieve it while more Yanme'e ambush him.

Trivia
Miscellaneous
- This missions takes place simultaneously with the beginning of the Halo 2 level Metropolis.

- Two Scorpion tanks engage Covenant forces on the bridge, despite there being only one during Metropolis.
Easter Eggs
- The Pelican dropship seen at the start of the mission is intended to be the same dropship Sergeant Major Avery Johnson uses to deliver the Scorpion tank to John-117 and the remaining Marine forces on the bridge in Halo 2.
