The 'H-295 Forward Observer Module 'is a target designator used by the UNSC Defense Force circa 2557.[1] It is likely a successor to the H-165 Forward Observer Module used during the Human-Covenant War.
Overview
The H-295 FOM is utilized as an infantry-portable, lightweight, handheld targeting laser designator used to "paint" an enemy target such as a Type-44 Phantom Dropships. During the initial stages of the Requiem campaign, it was used to destroy the Forerunner gravity well generators that keep the UNSC Infinity pinned down inside of Requiem.[2] It is used to destroy enemy vehicles, vessels and certain mission-specific objectives using either the Mammoth's dorsal-mounted Magnetic Accelerator Cannon or the weapons of the UNSC Infinity.[3]
