It is one of the bonus videos featured in the Special Edition of Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn viewable via Halo Waypoint. Produced by Herzog & Company, it contains behind-the-scenes insight into the production of the film, including interviews with the cast and crew and chronicling the progress of making the film from the initial stages to its conclusion.[1]

"Sleeper" was the production title of Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn.[2] The title of the documentary may be a nod to a line the 1984 film Dune, based on a science fiction novel of the same name by Frank Herbert, in which the protagonist Paul Atreides declares that "The sleeper has awakened!"
