Commander is a Sangheili rank used by the Storm. Their armor is similar to that of the Officers who once served the Covenant, though it is a deep claret color rather than the Officers' scarlet.[1]
The most common Covenant leaders on the battlefield, Sangheili Commanders usually operate in tandem with the other Sangheili, Kig-Yar and Unggoy combat squads in the area. These hardcore soldiers, most who've served the Covenant for decades, provide the essential strategic and tactical prowess needed on the battlefield. Traditionally, they wear heavier, more elaborate armor sets to display their heritage of skill and honor and tend to wield weapons such as the Type-51 Carbine or the Type-50 Directed Energy Rifle/Heavy.[1]
