Firefight Map

Should we mention the "different and new" firefight map that will be available, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for flood. —This unsigned comment was made by Spartan Jack490 (talkcontribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~

I think it's worth a mention. From this Sparkcast (http://halo.xbox.com/Content/assets/en-us/Podcast/waypointrss.xml), I also believe that it will be Flood. Frankie and the other 343 members pretty much said which map it would be. -TheLostJedi 16:07, 7 June 2011 (EDT)

I agree, but how would that be playable? Are they going to put it in the Reach matchmaking?--Bdgroot-117 04:40, 10 June 2011 (EDT)

I got the impression the maps are just new Reach maps, on the Reach MM disc, like Mythic II was for Halo 3. Alex T Snow 04:52, 10 June 2011 (EDT)

Armour

Is it just me, or does the MC's armor not look right ? ( Besides the helmet issue to which was already mentioned. )--H J Piepkow 13:00, 7 June 2011 (EDT)
I think it's because of the Mark V - after years of the faded and bumpy Mark VI we get to the very clean, shiny and flat Mark V.-- Forerunner 13:26, 7 June 2011 (EDT)

Yes, but compared to how the Mk V looked in Reach it look's completely different. It just seems like they should have kept it they way the had it in Reach rather than change it again. --H J Piepkow 14:32, 7 June 2011 (EDT)

Is it just me or does it look like that clip from pre-Halo? Vegerot (talk) 14:42, 7 June 2011 (EDT)!

Aside from being too green, and having the shoulder plates being too large. it does look a lot like the original armor to me. 24.60.143.195 15:10, 7 June 2011 (EDT)

Bumps (or whatever it is) on the chestplate and non-shaded visoh, I think.PatrickRus 20:15, 7 June 2011 (EDT)

It does look alot like the original, save for the chest piece which was the main thing I noticed that didn't look like it should. --H J Piepkow 02:10, 8 June 2011 (EDT)

I don't see why they didn't just take the basic SPARTAN model from Reach and outfit it with all of the Mk. V armor pieces... would have made a lot more sense if you ask me SPARTAN-347 13:56, 8 June 2011 (EDT)

Weapons and items

I'm really disappointed that they aren't really paying attention to canon here. The MA5B looks too much like the MA37 (in fact, I don't think they changed it at all) and the M6D on the cover art looks exactly like the M6G in Reach. They also copied some models from Reach like the Warthog's, Marines'/Army Troopers', and the enemies'. If so, why not update Chief's armor with Reach's model? Also, they're using Army Troopers from Reach instead of Marines. Gaaaw, why is a fan like me better at keeping canon than the people that make the game?--File:PENGUIN4.gifFluffyEmoPenguin(ice quack!) 15:51, 7 June 2011 (EDT)

They have obviously retconed all ARs to look like that since the Fall of Reach reprint, and the army troops and marines look identical in Halo Reach. Also the M6D and G are rather similar in design and it's been 10 years since Halo CE—This unsigned comment was made by ArchedThunder (talkcontribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~

The Marines in Reach have differently-colored armor. It's brown armor plating with olive drab clothing. The Army Troopers have all tan and some variations with brown. The G and D are very different, BTW. The D has a chrome finish, an extended magazine, and no underbarrel scope (its scope is on top).--File:PENGUIN4.gifFluffyEmoPenguin(ice quack!) 16:45, 9 June 2011 (EDT)

It could just be that they were using them for the trailer and just haven't got around to re-doing the weapons for in game yet. --H J Piepkow 02:16, 8 June 2011 (EDT)

Perhaps the Reach MA37 was intended to simply be a graphical update of the MA5B all along? Furthermore, it's entirely possible that the Army's armour used in Reach is a graphical update of the metal slabs worn by the Marines in the original Halo: CE. Of course, this does raise the question of what became of those sealed, fully-visored helmets worn by the Marine in Reach.--The All-knowing Sith'ari 12:44, 8 June 2011 (EDT)
I assume that the Marines wore those enclosed helmets for nuclear/radiological protection; after all, the planet was being glassed only miles away. They would have no need to wear them on the Autumn, and when the ship was boarded, they wouldn't have wasted time getting special gear. They would have evacuated ASAP. --Courage never dies. 12:52, 8 June 2011 (EDT)
Ah, good point, Braindenvl.--The All-knowing Sith'ari 13:41, 8 June 2011 (EDT)
Blah, retconning the AR disappoints me. The old MA5 style has also been the Halo gun, I mean, when you think Halo you think MJOLNIR, Warthog, and Assault Rifle, those are the classics and I really hope they don't mess that up. That and the MA37 is ugly anyway. Think about the rest too, all of the Human weapons are different versions in Reach and CE, hell, the Shotgun isn't even the same gun at all! Though it would be okay to keep the M6G, because like some other people here I believe that the vast majority of the pistols used on 04 were the standard issue Gs, and only a few (or maybe only the one given to you by Keyes) were the Officer's D model. I'm really hoping they are placeholders and there will be actual graphical updated versions of the CE weapons instead of ported over Reach ones. Alex T Snow 16:30, 8 June 2011 (EDT)

I belive that 343 needs to go and look at Halo CE again --1-10 18:50, 8 June 2011 (EDT)

They may just be using assets from Reach during the development cycle, in place of final graphics. If I recall correctly, that's what Bungie did in previous games during development, using older character and item models until the final version was complete. I agree, I prefer the look of the MA5B for a remake of CE, but let's not jump to conclusions of "omg they're retconning EVERYTHING now it is ruined forever!" Frankie has already said that the remade Mark V is still undergoing revisions that didn't make it for the trailer, especially the helmet, which looks radically different to the original. Who's to say the same isn't happening for other things, like the assault rifle? -- Specops306 Autocrat Qur'a 'Morhek 21:05, 8 June 2011 (EDT)
True, and I will assume (and hope) that's what they're doing, I've seen it with other games too. Alex T Snow 02:26, 9 June 2011 (EDT)

New multiplayer maps for Reach

I for the life of me can not figure out how to make a new article on this site, can some one make a new article for all the new remakes for Reach that we know about so far? —This unsigned comment was made by ArchedThunder (talkcontribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~

Halo 2 anniversary?

Seeing as they are making a halo CE anniversary game, will there be a halo 2 anniversary game with amped-up graphics or will it just stop at halo 1? And then if they make a halo 2 will there be halo 3 anniversary featuring ultra realistic graphics engines in 2016-17? where will this end? Just wondering... I am still waiting for halo 3 on pc personally. T34master 21:10, 7 June 2011 (EDT) t34master

The only reason they are doing this is because it's the 10 anniversary of Halo. —This unsigned comment was made by ArchedThunder (talkcontribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~

Maybe on the 20th anniversary? : P SPARTAN-347 13:54, 8 June 2011 (EDT)

"When asked about the possibility of the same treatment for Halo 2, a 343 spokesman said "That's a good question... which I will be evasive on! Right now we're really excited to be talking about Halo: Combat Evolved."

Found that on G4's article they made about it. I don't know if that answers your question much though. :P Andrew996 14:01, 8 June 2011 (EDT)

Artistic Licence

The new helmet is strange, it doesnt look exactly like the old one. It doenst look smooth. 84.130.203.147 15:25, 9 June 2011 (EDT)

As of right now, it sounds like 343 is still fixing/redoing a lot of stuff in the game, the helmet and armor included. Hopefully the stuff we've seen so far isn't the final version SPARTAN-347 17:20, 9 June 2011 (EDT)

They said they've already fixed the helmet. Alex T Snow 17:24, 9 June 2011 (EDT)
