Marksmen
I know I read somewhere that the ones holding Carbines were called marksmen. Why are all the picture of the snipers holding carbines? Omar-065
Though my knowledge on the matter is poor, i'd guess that a sniper and a marksmen does more or less the same thing. In Call of Duty 4, a Marksmen class comes equipped with a sniper or long range rifle (I don't remember which). The Jackal snipers in Halo 3 weild both Carbines and Beam Rifles (Though I would have liked to have seen more weilding Beam Rifles). Whichever one they use varies, but their armor or appearance is the same, thus making them the same class of soldier. I guess the article would need renaming to "Jackal Marksman", as that would be more accurate spanning over the two final games. Tigerrrrr 18:33, 4 December 2008 (UTC)
In Sierra 117 on higher difficulties, like Heroic and Legendary, you will encounter most Jackal Marksmen.
In real life a designated marksmen is simular to a sniper but they weild a battle rifle like the M14 or a automatic sniper like the SVD or the DMR (a M14 more suited for sniping) And that the carbine is more like a battle rifle than a carbine id say they could be called marksmens
What about if they are jackal sharpshooters? SPARTAN IIIIIIIIII 19:39, February 11, 2010 (UTC)
Snipers are trained to eliminate high value targets at range from a conceled position, a designater marksman uses a "smaller rifle" and is used as part of a squad for anti sniper use, and a normal soldier.92.10.2.35 08:00, July 31, 2010 (UTC)
Shielded?
It states in the article that Jackal Snipers can be seen with shields. Where does this happen? -DinoBenn 18:33, 25 July 2009 (UTC)
- Where does it say this? --T 3 2 8 File:Bouncy Wiki Logo.gif 18:33, 25 July 2009 (UTC)
