Nathan Fillion (born March 27, 1971 in Edmonton, Alberta) is a Canadian actor, best known for his lead role in the television series Firefly as Captain (formerly Sergeant) Reynolds. In Halo 3, he supplies the voice of Gunnery Sergeant Reynolds, named in homage to Fillion's most famous character. Not only does Nathan Fillion provide the voice for Gunnery Sergeant Edward Buck in Halo 3: ODST, but the character's physical appearance was modeled after the actor as well.

  • Nathan Fillion and Tricia Helfer (the voice of Captain Veronica Dare) recorded most of their voice work for Halo 3: ODST in the same recording booth, which is rare in voice acting.[1]
  • Nathan claims to have invented the Radar Jammer. For this, he was given the previously-Bungie-exclusive Bungie Armor permutation in Halo 3.Template:Fact
  • His character Buck will occasionally say "'Bam!' said the lady", a piece of slang, meaning a general exclamation, that Nathan Fillion thought up and is trying to promote. The phrase can also be heard on his detective show Castle.
