Forge turret glitch
From Halopedia, the Halo wiki
Background
On the Forge, you can pick up a player using a AIE-486H Heavy Machine Gun or Plasma Turret while they are controlling it.
Requirements
- /////2\\\\\ Players. (One as the Monitor, one as the turret operator)
- AIE-486H Heavy Machine Gun or Plasma Turret
- Must be playing in the Forge.
Match
Instructions
- Have one player be the Monitor (Player 1) and the other player is a Spartan or Elite (Player 2).
- Have Player 1 create a UNSC Turret or Plasma Turret and set it down.
- Player 2 takes control of the turret but DOES NOT tear the turret off the tripod.
- After Player 2 is operating the turret, Player 1 grabs the turret again, via the A button, and lifts Player 2 and the turret into the air.
- Player 2 has no control over the turret any longer, except by firing. Player 1 will have to aim at enemies for Player 2.
- If Player 2 were to press B and tear the turret off the tripod, he/she would have the turret and be using it ordinarily. Even when Player 2 does this, Player 1 will still have the turret and tripod, as Player 2 goes off running with his/her own. It would appear as if a flying gunner grabbed a turret out of nowhere and begin using it, as the Monitor would still be having the same turret.
- Player 1 can set his/her turret down and use it on his/her own. This way, BOTH players have turrets to gun down enemies.
- This is a good tactic on Forge games, where you can have floating, dodging players on turrets.
- This glitch could also be used as a prank against turret-wielding foes, regardless of teams.
- Another version of this glitch can be used to enter a block in Rat's Nest.
- First, place a turret at the base of a block, right next to it.
- Then, make the second player wield the turret. Do not rip the turret off the base.
- Make the second player turn around 180° and enter the block.
- You cannot exit the block once inside, but it can be used as a hiding place once ahead in score.
- The last player can also utilize the turret to get inside.
