Battle of the Silent Cartographer

Template:Battle The Battle of the Silent Cartographer was a battle aboard Installation 04, during the Human-Covenant War. A part of a much wider conflict in 2552, the battle resulted in the deaths on numerous forces on both sides and secured control of the Silent Cartographer for the UNSC.

The battle

Arriving on the Silent Cartographer island, SPARTAN-II John-117 and two squads of marines were ordered by Captain Keyes to capture the facility holding the Cartographer so that they could locate Halo's control room. The soldiers landed on a Covenant-controlled beach and quickly captured before proceeding further in-land.

While taking shelter under an enormous structure, the Master Chief and two of his Marines received a Warthog from Echo 419 and used it to get to the entrance of the facility. Once there, both of the Marines were killed by Hunters, but they in turn were eliminated by Master Chief, who captures the entrance but is locked out of the lower areas. Returning to the Warthog, the Chief finds the island's security center but is ambushed by Covenant forces complimented with two more Hunters.

Surviving the ambush, John-117 then managed to unlock the Silent Cartographer and made his in locating the Control Room. Once on the surface again, the Chief goes to the newly-located control room with the help of Echo 419.
