CQB-class Mjolnir

The Mark VI MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor/C variant[1], more commonly known as Close Quarters Battle Armor[2], and abbreviated as CQB Armor, is a type of United Nations Space Command ground infantry body armor.
Introduction
The "CQB Armor" is a variant of the standard Mark VI MJOLNIR powered battle armor, specialized to "improve survivability in close combat" for the SPARTAN-II supersoldiers by "looking at alternate methods of K dispersal and improving joint mobility". It will be an armor permutation in Halo 3 multiplayer. Bungie has confirmed all of the armor permutations have no effect on gameplay.
History & Development
It was developed by the United Nations Space Command in the Beweglichrüstungsysteme facility Essen, Germany and tested at the Special Warfare Center in Songnam, Korea. It is unknown if this type of armor will ever be used in combat.

Trivia
- The CQB chestplate seems to look like a reinforced MJOLNIR chest plate and has a combat knife encased in it. It also has a tube down at the bottom.
- The CQB helmet bears some similarity to the ODST helmet. The main difference is that which it seems similar it has large cheek guards over the top of it, giving it a T shape. It also appears to have strong reinforcement on the head to provide extra protection. The extra protection and smaller visor would be ultimatly to protect the SPARTAN's head more in close combat situations.
- The shoulder pads appear similar to that of the ODST troops in the halo 3 concept art on the halozune. They appear to be rather large and rounded and omit armor from the upper shoulder. [3]
- The helmet seems to be aesthetically inspired by the suit used by bounty hunter Samus Aran in the Metroid video game series, and also (though less similarly) by the helmets used by the warrior race of Mandalorians in the Star Wars series. Armor also resembles that of a Star Wars: Episode 3 Clone Trooper.
