UNSC Stalingrad

The UNSC Stalingrad was a UNSC Carrier in 2552. It was commanded by Admiral Carl "Buster" Patterson.[1]
It was the flagship of a small task force sent to Onyx to retrieve Dr. Catherine Halsey and her Spartan-IIs and Spartan-IIIs. During the Battle of Onyx, the ship survived the first[2] and second[3] attacks on the Covenant fleet, but was destroyed when overwhelming Covenant reinforcements arrived from Slipspace.[4]

Now the famous city of Volgagrad, Stalingrad hosted a brutal battle in WWII that can be, and is, considered the very first stop of the German Blitzkrieg in the East.
