Before You Vote

  • Only votes from users who have accounts on Halopedia and whose vote are cast while being logged in will count. The account must have been created at least one month before the vote and have at least 50 article edits.
  • For example, if one is voting for HOTM for the month of October then the user must have created their account in July or before July.
  • Votes will be counted for next month. Please vote on the section for next month, because only the votes in that section will be counted.
  • You can vote one time only. If you wish to change your vote, cross out (but do not remove) any previous votes you have made.
  • Please bold your nomination so it is easier to see.
  • In the event of a tie the results from the edit count page will be used as a tie breaker.
  • You must put your vote with your signature in the voting area. In the end votes with signatures are the only ones that will be counted.

Votes

  • Delta-269 - Has made some excellent contributions in the year or so he's been with Halopedia. Is a fantastic Operator on our IRC channel, and all around, is an excellent guy to hang out with...on the internet of course. That's why I nominate him as the February HOTM. • Kougermasters - Kougermasters has recently been very active, also recently acquired rollback rights, and has been fighting a lot of vandalism lately. In my opinion, Kouger is becoming a very active and excellent contributor. In addition, Kougermasters is a good user to talk to, is helpful, and so I nominate him for HOTM for February. Wow, I didn't know that a nominee can vote for himself! Jimmy13 | Talk 2 me File:1229655910-Th master.jpg 12:08, 1 January 2009 (UTC)

A nominee can vote for him/herself as long as he/she has been nominated by someone else. — Lt. Commander Kouger 12:13, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
They can, but it's considered poor form. It's very rarely done. — Manticore [ AdminIRCHOTMBot ] 12:48, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
Do you listen, Kouger? Poor Form! Jimmy13 | Talk 2 me File:1229655910-Th master.jpg 13:46, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
That is highly poor, Kouger... 1st Class Cadet ONI recon 111 | File:1227612553 First3.jpg 13:53, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
Yes, I know it is. The only reason I did it is because my New Year's Resolution is to increase my self-esteem and to try to feel better about myself. And Manticore shouldn't be talking about poor form; last time I looked insulting users for no viable reason whatsoever is considered "poor form". — Lt. Commander Kouger 14:01, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
Oh, and by the way, continuously communing about "poor form" is immature and in itself, ironically, also "poor form". — Lt. Commander Kouger 14:06, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
Well, get Delta to vote for himself as well, then. There's no need to make such a fuss. As long as kouger isn't breaking any rules, I don't see why we should consider this a "poor form". The rules clearly state that a nominee can vote for themselves as long as they have been nominated and already voted by someone else. Let's not break any more feelings... Template:Nicmavr/sig
That will backfire anyway, more people will vote for Delta because of that. BananaCat File:1213452567 Cat-facts.jpg Message MeEdits Stats 16:18, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
Not necessarily. Remember that we are only still in the beginning of the month, so we still have to wait for more voters. Just because Delta has more votes now, doesn't mean he will for the whole time. He may will, he may not. Same goes for kougermasters. For now, we can only wait... Template:Nicmavr/sig
I agree, there is no way that this will backfire. Kouger has all rights to do that. It won't affect his reputation Jimmy13 | Talk 2 me File:1229655910-Th master.jpg 17:05, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
Even if it's allowed, people won't like it. BananaCat File:1213452567 Cat-facts.jpg Message MeEdits Stats 18:33, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
Well, it is allowed. And people won't always dislike it. Delta can also vote for himself, so that way, we're equal. You tell him that, Banana Cat. Template:Nicmavr/sig
We'll see. But, if things go bad for Kouger, The simplest thing for him to do is to strike out the vote, and everything will be ok. Jimmy13 | Talk 2 me File:1229655910-Th master.jpg 18:49, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
What do I have to hide? I had every right to vote for myself, and the guidelines clearly state to vote for the nominee that you feel best deserves this award. I know that wasn't exactly the most modest statement I've ever made, however, I'm not about to be a coward and bow to other's wishes unless it is for everyone's good. If I don't become HotM, fair enough. That just means that others in the community do not think that I deserve the award. And if voting for oneself is such a terrible thing, why is it even allowed? Is it to simply show those who are arrogant and/or ignorant enough to do so? If there is a serious problem with voting for myself, someone, please, enlighten me and I will be happy to rectify my mistake. If not, please drop the matter and enjoy other pursuits; it's not worth making a fuss over. It's one vote, after all. — Lt. Commander Kouger 22:17, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
I agree with kouger 100% fully. What's all the fuss about? Template:Nicmavr/sig
Did you even read anyone else's comments besides Kouger? Anyways, Manticore stated that voting for yourself in elections is essentially in bad nature. Something for which I agree with. Kouger stated that it will heighten his "self-esteem", which I am happy he is; though it is also "self-centered" in certain ways. File:United Nations logo.pngGeneral Tony, Administrator of HalopediaTalk 1/1/2009
I didn't say it was wrong, but that people will think it's immoral and won't like it. It's a statement. BananaCat File:1213452567 Cat-facts.jpg Message MeEdits Stats 23:11, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
Ya, I did read all the comments, and I can see Manticore's point. But personally, I don't think it's something that has to be discussed so much or havin such a fuss over it. Kouger did it, so that's that. It's not like he broke the rules or something. If people don't like it, then we should remove the self-voting right. Let's just forget about it for now...Template:Nicmavr/sig
I did NOT mean to cause such a controversy...I do agree that with the wrong reasons voting for yourself is not only poor form, but also just arrogant and corrupt. I however, did it for the opposite reasons (not wrong reasons). Look through the archives and you will see that what I did is not nearly as bad as some stuff others have done (as if I did anything wrong anyway)... Look, I shouldn't be defending myself here; if you want to persecute me, go ahead. I will emerge stronger for it anyway. I do know based on everyone's (except perhaps Nicmavr) reactions that what I did was apparently a mistake, and... I won't whine, nor defend myself anymore. This discussion is CLOSED. I don't regret it. Judge me as you will, I'm not taking it back, unless, as I said before, someone gives me a very good reason to. One last thing, as Nicmavr says, it's not a very big deal. It's only 1 vote. — Lt. Commander Kouger 01:56, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
I have to agree with Kougermasters, what's the big deal? From what I see, Kougermasters voted for himself because he felt confident. It's true, it can also be viewed as self-centeredness, but that's based on personal opinion. At least there were really no negative reasons for Kougermasters' vote, and that's good enough for me. Commander Atheist
Thank you for understanding Devout Atheist. — Lt. Commander Kouger 03:15, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
Kouger, you are not causing any controversy. We are just discussing here. We're not criticizing anyone. And from the beginning of the conversation (which I started), I didn't believe that you were going to earn a bad reputation, and I don't think that all this antagonism between users is relevant. I'm talking especially for BananaCat here. Jimmy13 | Talk 2 me File:1229655910-Th master.jpg 08:42, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
I'm not saying it was wrong and I'm not trying to oppose Kougermasters. I'm just trying to make a point that what he/she did could backfire. kthxbai. BananaCat File:1213452567 Cat-facts.jpg Message MeEdits Stats 14:44, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
But, trying to make that point so insistenly, is like intending to oppose Kougermasters. Jimmy13 | Talk 2 me File:1229655910-Th master.jpg 17:16, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
