Organized under the UNSC's Unified Ground Command alongside the Marine Corps and Air Force, the UNSC Army is tasked with the defense of UEG colony worlds and the long-term occupation of enemy territory. The Army trains organizes, equips, and maintains land, maritime, and airborne forces to serve this end. Also among the Army's responsibilities is the creation of local militias, as well as effort in support of the UNSC's other branches via the construction of civil works and the development of common doctrines and equipment.
