The Backdraft Cindershot is a modified variant of the Cindershot, a hardlight grenade launcher designed and created for use by the Forerunners.[3][6]
Overview
Design details
- Main article: Cindershot
The Backdraft Cindershot is variant of the standard Cindershot. In addition to having a white chassis, its employs a modified firing core with three-phase sequential detonation.[1][5][6] Subsequently, the Backdraft Cindershot fires projectiles that splinter into multiple projectile which then detonate at their next point of impact.[4]
Usage
As the Forerunner Ecumene Council prepared to declare war on ancient humanity, Bitterness-of-the-Vanquished requisitioned a Backdraft Cindershot from the Ferrarius Assembler Vats for Ur-Didact's personal use, correctly predicting Ur-Didact would be interested in testing out the weapon when he first hears about the Cindershot.[2] Millennia later, one such weapon was in the possession of Myriad, a pair of Mgalekgolo in the Banished during the campaign on Installation 07 in 2559-2560.[7] During the campaign, they kept the weapon in their possession until their deaths at the hands of John-117.[8]
In-game information
The Backdraft Cindershot is a legendary weapon awarded to the player after defeating the High Value Targets, Myriad. The weapon can be acquired at any Forward Operating Base within the campaign. It fires projectiles that splinter into multiple projectile which then detonate at their next point of impact.[4] The Backdraft Cindershot can also be acquired in the open world; one can be found in a Forerunner armory near a Mjolnir Armory locker (which contains the Olympic Stance), west of Ransom Keep, with the armory entrance facing the edge of the ring fragment.
