The UNSC Saratoga was a Paris-class heavy frigate in the UNSC Navy. It was assigned to the Epsilon Eridani Fleet.[1][10]
Service history
On August 12, 2552, during the Battle at Szurdok Ridge, the Saratoga, as well as the UNSC Grafton, provided air support for UNSC forces engaging the Covenant on the ground. Though Grafton was destroyed when a Sh'wada-pattern supercarrier, Long Night of Solace, emerged from cloak, Saratoga narrowly escaped.[10][1]
Trivia
- It is possible that the UNSC Saratoga was named in honor of the Battle of Saratoga, which occurred during the American Revolution, therefore carrying on a lineage of United States Navy ships named in honor of the battle.
- Like the Grafton and the Savannah, the Saratoga did not have its hull classification symbol painted on its bow.
