First aid station

A first aid station, also known as a medical kiosk, is a usable stationary terminal in Halo 3: ODST that dispenses Optican health packs. A normal first aid station contains two health pack sockets. Like most of New Mombasa's infrastructure, these stations are controlled by the city's urban infrastructure AI, the Superintendent.

Gameplay

Since ODST and Marine Corps personnel lack any form of energy shielding, first aid stations are a vital part of gameplay. The health packs have the same function as their precursor in Halo: Combat Evolved.

Trivia

• The achievement "Heal Up" is acquired by using one of these for the first time in Halo 3: ODST.
• Some medical kiosks are empty, and hold Audio Logs instead. In this case, the health packs that should be in the kiosk are on the ground next to it.
• It is likely that the kiosks normally use a controlled dispensing system, but switched to unlimited service to assist civilians and military personnel during the Battle of Earth.
