Ravine is a Halo 4 multiplayer map intended for use as a Forge canvas. It is one of four such maps to be designed and adapted to Forging.[2]
Description
When ONI dispatched its first expeditionary group to this sector, it was believed that these impressive citadels were individual constructs strategically organized to protect this portion of Requiem. Teams on the ground now believe that they are actually the ramparts and battlements of an impossibly large structure below the surface of the sea.[3]
Gameplay
Ravine has been called a more traditional Halo map compared to Erosion and Impact.[2] The environment consists of rolling green hills and Forerunner structures embedded in rocks and hillsides. The map is split in two by the titular ravine. One side is a largely open plain, on the other is a large Forerunner structure with a large, flat floor.
Trivia
- The Reflections on the Forerunner structures are actually images from the level Tsavo Highway.
- The exclusive forge pieces are actually also present in Forge Island.
