Private Marie Postly was a Marine ODST serving aboard the UNSC Pillar of Autumn and part of Major Antonio Silva's unit. It is presumed that Postly served with Major Silva in many other engagements with the Covenant. During the evacuation of the ship, Postly's Human Entry Vehicle parachute malfunctioned, leading her to scream into a com channel to Silva, who wrote her off as doomed despite the fact that her backup chute explicitly activated. Silva believed that she faced a death all ODST Marines feared, but never talked about. It is unknown whether or not Silva was right, and she actually died upon landing, but it is known that she did not survive to return to Earth, as her name is not listed among the small number of survivors of Installation 04.[1]
