Class-L flash-dock
From Halopedia, the Halo wiki
- " Class-L flash-docks are basic math for a corvette or a frigate, but for a cruiser like Autumn, well, let’s be real, it’d be like flying a brick with bottle rockets."
- — Gail Purdy[1]
Class-L Flash-Docks are a type of drydock used for the purpose of docking human spacecraft on a planetary surface.[2] They are most commonly used to hold small spacecraft such as corvettes and frigates[1], though they are capable of hosting vessels as large as a Halcyon-class light cruiser when needed.[3]
Usage
During the Fall of Reach in 2552, the UNSC Pillar of Autumn docked in a Class-L at the Asźod ship breaking yards, while it underwent the final preparations for Operation: RED FLAG.[3] To help the massive ship maneuver in an atmosphere, the ship was fitted with R7 thrust couplings, though technician Gail Purdy expressed doubts as to whether the ship would be able to make it.[1]
