Cleanup

Pretty much redid the whole thing and took off the "cleanup" tag. Hope it sounds better to all. - Khazikane 02:14, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

Confirmation

While it's more than likely that this is the Elite Homeworld, we have no official confirmation. -- Hunter-113 19:24, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

Okay, now we do. -- Hunter-113 13:28, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

If only we could get a picture from the Beastarium and upload the homeworld picture....Kap2310 18:25, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

I did the best I could. Hope you like it. Blue Ninja 11:23, 7 October 2007 (UTC)

I think, this is the best picture of Sanghelios. Jadeitor 12:48, 8 November 2008 (UTC)

WTF

I Highly doubt Sanghelios would have a small fleet more like the fleets we see at High Charity and Unyielding Hierophant. Considering an outer outpost world like Joyous Exaltation had 200 ships Sanghelios would probably be opting at least 1000 ships

Unyeilding Hierophant was a stopping-off point for a massive invasion fleet, and High Charity is a mobile fortress, and the home of the prophets. Sanghelios probably does have its own fleet, but the majority of the Covenant's forces would be focussed on keeping High Charity safe at any cost. --Councillor Specops306 - Qur'a 'Morhek 11:27, 13 December 2008 (UTC)

there would be 2 diffrent fleets, the massive elite fleet gaurding sanghelios and ships that belong to the covenant. im positive the ships at sanghelios would belong to the elites and not the prophets.

A Clear Picture

Look at the Halo Encyclopedia! They have a clear picture of the planet!--Sangheili Commando 021: Fluffball Gato 15:54, October 22, 2009 (UTC)

Halo Legends

Where excatly is this planet in Halo Legends, or mentioned? I have seen both released episodes, no sign of it. Template:Gruntijackal Sig

Um, they're standing on it.--Sangheili Commando 021: Fluffball Gato 02:26, November 25, 2009 (UTC)

Predator Planet

Have any of you noticed that the predator world is just like sanghelios? Predator world is called Yuatja Prime and it belongs to a triple star system, has a desert or tropical landscape, and spawns a Split-Chin species. Give me your thoughts on this.--Justin Kane 23:29, March 23, 2010 (UTC)Justin Kane

Category:Sanghelios locations

Would a category for Sanghelios locations be acceptable? There do seem to be a lot, and it is a pretty important planet to have so many and lack a category. -- SFH 04:05, July 26, 2010 (UTC)

Merging

It has been proposed that several related articles be merged into a Sanghelios. The articles are:

Fied Joori Qikost Suban Urs

Support.svg Support The individual articles lack notability, and significant coverage. There has been no expantion in three years, and there is no foreseable expansion in the future.--Plasmic Physics 05:45, July 26, 2010 (UTC)

Oppose.svg Oppose- I'm glad that you are performing in this manner, but I will still oppose. Sorry, but I've made my point multiple times... separate celestial bodies deserve separate articles. As Jugus put it, we would never mix Earth and Luna together... Why should we merge these?--Sangheili Commando 021: Fluffball Gato 05:51, July 26, 2010 (UTC)

Yes, Luna is separate from Earth, this is reasonable. We have a substantial quantity of specific content pertaining to each, it is only reasonable to dedicate individual articles. While Luna and Earth are separate celestial bodies, they are not in separate celestial systems, they are both included within the same solar system belonging to Sol, so the argument of separate celestial bodies is not a strong argument.:
Hypothetically, if you have heap of sand, you wouldn't devote an article to each grain in that heap, you would however, devote an article about the heap as a whole, soley for the reason that the content for one grain of sand would be insignificantly different from that of another grain of sand in that heap.--Plasmic Physics 01:15, July 28, 2010 (UTC)

Star system dynamics

I noticed that it says in the Bestarium that Sanghelios orbits Urs (i.e. its primary). So there are two configurations the system could have:

  • Fied and Joori orbit each other as a close binary pair; they in turn orbit Urs at a distance, Urs being close to the system’s center of mass. A real-world example is the star system HD 188753.
  • Fied and Joori are at the system’s center of mass as a binary pair; Urs and its planets orbit these at a distance. Real-world example: the Alpha Centauri system.

There's been no more details of the system given, so the above is speculative, but I thought it might be of interest to note that! Neme 'Zusatee 21:57, 16 October 2011 (EDT)

That's very interesting, I never really thought about how a three-star system would work... I imagine the day/night cycles for Sanghelios could be pretty weird SPARTAN-347 23:06, 16 October 2011 (EDT)

Sangheili Conflict

By what title are we referring to the Servants of Abiding Truth's uprising against 'Vadam? I was thinking "Sangheili Civil War", the conflict seems to be on a large enough scale, but I wanted to get other opinions. File:Colonel Grade One.pngCol. State of...

We're currently using a standard of titling every Sangheili state with the prefix "State of..." following the template of our article on the State of Vadam. However, I've began to view this in questionable light given how Glasslands and The Thursday War never use the format; the supposed "State of Ontom" is just Ontom and the State of Acroli is Acroli. Where did this standard come from, then? I suppose it originated from a single line referring to the "state of Vadam" in The Cole Protocol (p93); given this wiki's previous policy of randomly interpreting anything as a proper name, this ostensibly descriptive term found its way into usage it wasn't originally intended for (not the only time this has happened). The standard has later found its way to canon material; the Essential Visual Guide uses the same format - with "State" capitalized - when referring to Ripa 'Moramee's home state; one can guess where they got the idea.

Still, I don't think this is a problem we can't get around; given its canonical justification, it can be used as a more elegant way of disambiguating certain pages, like Vadam (the family) and the State of Vadam. However, it's completely unnecessary to use the "State of" in articles which need no disambiguation, which is basically all of the known Sangheili states other than Vadam. --Jugus (Talk | Contribs) 03:37, 17 October 2012 (EDT)

List of keeps

What happened to it? 98.24.14.97 16:14, 16 February 2013 (EST)

The keeps are listed under the "Locations" section.--Spartacus TalkContribs 16:19, 16 February 2013 (EST)

Locations section

I'm contemplating removing the locations section on this article (and on other articles with large location sections like Earth, Harvest, and Reach). When it's this large, it becomes harder to organize and it looks a bit messy. The locations category for Sanghelios is easier to manage and we don't really have to update it every time, so we could just link to that instead. Any thoughts? --NightHammer(talk)(contribs) 12:29, 18 October 2015 (EDT)

I think it should be left, but organized better so that the first tier of bullet points are always continents and then underneath them we could have smaller subdivisions. Then there would be a separate category entirely for places of unknown location, kind of like how the inner colonies and outer colonies and unknowns are listed on that page. ---Japeth555

I think Nighthammer's suggestion would work best in the long run. These locations would likely be expanded in the near future and having the list being automated by way of a category would solve any issue of not keeping the list updated. It would also certainly look better in mobile view as well. — subtank 08:44, 19 October 2015 (EDT)
Agreed. Of course, the Locations section can stay on articles with only a handful of locations and those that have no locations category. --NightHammer(talk)(contribs) 19:57, 19 October 2015 (EDT)

Infobox image?

I'm not sure if we should keep the current image or replace it with this. The current image is much more clear and shows the landmasses better, but the new one is more accurate I guess? -- Topal the Pilot Blueteam.png (Talk|Contribs) 20:01, 19 December 2015 (EST)
