Oi ya comic image
Okay if we have to have a discussion about it then let it be. Who's up for having that Escalation image as the introductory image? Does fit policy that way.Sith-venator Wavingstrider (Commlink) 13:42, 11 December 2013 (EST)
I personally prefer the current image over the newer proposed one. Just looks cleaner and represents him better in my opinion.--Spartacus Talk • Contribs 14:08, 11 December 2013 (EST)
- Well since I don't have the comic, does anyone know if there is possibly a better picture of Arby in Escalation?Sith-venator Wavingstrider (Commlink) 14:10, 11 December 2013 (EST)
- Sadly, no; the rest of his shots: or are close ups, or he is covered by another character.--They're coming. They're hungry. (talk) 14:38, 11 December 2013 (EST)
- I vote we change it to the new image, we are a wiki after all and it is our job to keep things up to date. User:JJAB91/Sig
- I say keep it the way it is, don't change it. --Xamikaze330 [Transmission|Commencing] 17:32, 11 December 2013 (EST)Xamikaze330
Personal preference aside, I think it is best if the article maintains a consistent image of the subject rather than constantly having to update the introductory image. This is, of course, subject to whether the new updated image is from a low-tier media (i.e. comic book/graphic novel) or a high-tier media (i.e. games/film). The quality of the image is of the essence and I'm not referring to resolution or pixel density; it is the quality of presenting the subject in the best possible light. That being said, I think it is best to revert back to the H3 image and place the "updated" image of Thel in the Gallery section. Once 343i releases a proper quality image, then we should revisit this discussion again and reconsider. — subtank 21:36, 11 December 2013 (EST)
What about this image? M0aHerder (talk) 22:54, 11 December 2013 (EST)
- I disagree about the difference between having to make such a distinction between media types like that. Low-tier, high-tier. It's halo, not star wars.
I wasn't sure what the message meant. Sorry about that. Now, I think it'd be much better to use thus edited image because it's representative of the arbiter's current situation. It's a rather big difference I think to justify this new updated image. If he was featured with his old armour, yeah keep the better one. But this image's quality is high enough and represents his current situation in the universe better. I vote form the new image. Erickyboo (talk) 23:09, 11 December 2013 (EST)
- What Subtank said. The Halo 3 image is better in terms of quality and more representative of the character and until - unless - he appears in his new armor in a game, the old image works better as the introductory one. If we did this for all characters (always keep changing the introductory image as new media comes along, irrespective of media format) we'd have to change the main images all the time, often to inferior ones, quality- and indeed canon-wise (in this case game to comic, in-studio art vs external comic artists who are notorious for their own, fanciful takes on established visuals). --Jugus (Talk | Contribs) 00:08, 12 December 2013 (EST)
Its time to use the new image Councilor 'Rumilee (talk) 17:04, 10 June 2014 (EDT)
- The image from Escalation or the one from Halo 2 Anniversary? --SFH (talk) 17:17, 10 June 2014 (EDT)
- Anniversary, we've replaced Johnson's, Lord Hood's, and Regret's photos. Time for Thel to get his sparkly new photograph. Councilor 'Rumilee (talk) 17:24, 10 June 2014 (EDT)
- I'd rather wait for one that didn't look like Thel was thinking that the reader looked like a juicy colo, but I suppose we could change when we get a new one. --SFH (talk) 17:31, 10 June 2014 (EDT)
- Hahaha I suppose, but we have replaced every other image with a more modern one Councilor 'Rumilee (talk) 20:22, 10 June 2014 (EDT)
- We could replace the current one with this one. - NightHammer (talk) 16:48, 25 July 2014 (EDT)
- I say yes. Anyone else oppose? -- SFH (talk) 20:22, 25 July 2014 (EDT)
- In favour. Tangent, but where did that one come from? Alex T Snow (talk) 03:01, 26 July 2014 (EDT)

Image from Epilogue/ Prologue
Should we use a photo from the Anniversary Prologue/ Epilogue for Thel's profi pic? It is canonically the most up to date.Lord 'Themee (talk) 10:53, 11 November 2014 (EST)
- I think so, that looks like a new armor design so we'll need an image either way. File:Colonel Grade One.pngCol. Snipes450File:Colonel Grade One.png 16:51, 11 November 2014 (EST)
- I think this is probably the best we'll get until Halo 5.--Soul reaper (talk) 07:10, 15 November 2014 (EST)
- I agree. The image is both photorealistic and canonically up-to-date. --Our vengeance is at hand. (Talk to me.) 19:42, 15 November 2014 (EST)
- I think this image is a bit more clear, the current one is kind of dark and you can barely see his face. Lord 'Themee (talk) 14:55, 25 November 2014 (EST)

- Any comments?Lord 'Themee (talk) 19:57, 29 November 2014 (EST)
- That's a tough one. The current one shows more of his armour/body, but this one isn't so dark and is a better face shot. Alex T Snow (talk) 22:56, 8 December 2014 (EST)

^^^that one is much better; not as dark and a good angle to show his face.70.190.250.193 16:25, 18 November 2015 (EST)
- That one is concept art (or similar) so it is less canonically correct, I am sure others have their own points. Alertfiend - Team Chief 16:30, 18 November 2015 (EST)
- The Halo 2: Anniversary Thel is his canonical appearance. His appearance in Halo 5 is just due to the fact they reused the Sangheili model for him as they didn't want to make a whole new model. -- Topal the Pilot (Talk|Contribs) 16:59, 18 November 2015 (EST)
I'm not so sure. Yes, they reused the unarmored Sangheili model from Spartan Ops in Halo 5 (bigger head, thicker body, unclosed mandibles, scaled skin, cuttlefish eyes.) rather than the Anniversary model (lankier body, longer neck, closed mandibles, unscaled skin, human-like eyes), but they also changed the armor considerably in Halo 5. It's bigger, a slightly different color, and has a closed helmet with a larger mouthguard. Given that the scenes with the new armor in Halo 2A were retconned out and so have some inconsistencies like Thel using a blue sword instead of the Prophet's Bane, I think the Halo 5 version would be the canonical one. Halo 5 is the newer depiction therefore its the newest canon. . Cortanas facial appearances changes literally every game--Guardian117 (talk) 17:48, 18 November 2015 (EST)
