Captain Edmund Persie is a human officer of the UNSC Navy who served as the commanding officer of UNSC Sevenfold Gates during the Human-Covenant War. Persie led UNSC Navy at the Battle of Meridian in 2551, after the Covenant returned to the world shortly after the Unified Earth Government had reclaimed it. After engaging the Covenant to the battle's end, Persie was forced to order the remaining Navy ships at Meridian to fall back to the edge of the Hestia system with him. Five hours after their retreat, Meridian had been glassed by the Covenant.[1]
