Halo Xbox One
All the official sources, like Halo Waypoint, refer to this game as Halo Xbox One instead of Halo 5. Has anyone confirmed that it's called Halo 5? Bioniclepluslotr 18:32, 10 June 2013 (EDT)
- I can't reasonably seeing them calling the game anything else, but you're right. At no point has 343 ever used the title "Halo 5". Until they do, we should refrain from referring to it as such.-- Rusty-112 Admin comm 19:17, 10 June 2013 (EDT)
- I agree. While Occam's Razor basically screams that the game is Halo 5, we need to wait for confirmation. Until then, Halo Xbox One will have to suffice. --Courage never dies. (talk) 19:29, 10 June 2013 (EDT)

- Even if I strongly think that this game is Halo 5, there is still no official information as it being called Halo 5 or being the second installment in the Reclaimer Trilogy, etc. But instead of immediately moving the page, maybe we should just wait for the next Bulletin or a press release from Halo Waypoint (something more than just the trailer). I'm pretty sure that 343 will confirm or deny it. Well, either that, or they don't know how to properly name a game / announce it. If this week's Bulletin doesn't clearly state that the game is Halo 5, then change it to Halo Xbox One or whatever. Or we may as well do it today, but it will possibly be changed again. Edit: Well it seems that even the Waypoint forum is called "Halo Xbox One"... This really doesn't make any sense to me. If it were Halo 5, why wouldn't they call it such? And if it were a spin-off set between H4 and H5, then why wouldn't they use a subtitle...Imrane-117 (talk) 20:01, 10 June 2013 (EDT)
- Just my two cents - here it says "The award-winning franchise continues on Xbox One, beginning in 2014. Final title to be announced at a later date." That may mean the title "Halo Xbox One" (and perhaps Halo 5) are just temporary/working titles, and aren't permanent. So just a heads up before moving the page to "Halo Xbox One", which IMO wouldn't make sense as a video game title especially for the Halo series.--Killamint [Comm|Files] 20:43, 10 June 2013 (EDT)
- Well, since we know "Halo: Xbox One" is not going to be the actual title, I think "Halo 5" is our best option, unless we really want to change it to "Unnamed Halo game (2014)". Alex T Snow (talk) 21:34, 10 June 2013 (EDT)
Nobody's saying "Halo Xbox One" is going to be the final title. Odds are we'll move the page then move it right back when it's officially announced as Halo 5. But we don't get to call it Halo 5 until either 343 Industries or Microsoft call it that. That being said, what do we think sounds more appropriate for a title: "Halo Xbox One" or "Halo (Xbox One)"?-- Rusty-112 Admin comm 21:53, 10 June 2013 (EDT)
- Halo 5, definitely. Halo (Xbox One) leaves too much open for confusionOcean Soul (talk) 22:24, 10 June 2013 (EDT)
Whatever name we make up for this article will be just that, a made up name. Whether it's "Halo (Xbox One)" or Halo 5 we're still just making it up. I personally feel that Halo 5 is much more descriptive, as it implies a mainline game, as opposed to a spin-off like Spartan Assault. If you're going to say we can't call it Halo 5 until 343 calls it that, we can't really call it anything else either. Whatever we call it will be our own invention. --Weeping Angel (talk) 22:47, 10 June 2013 (EDT)
- The title in the trailer just says Halo, so perhaps Halo (2014)? Bioniclepluslotr 08:21, 11 June 2013 (EDT)
Look, we can't just ignore our own policy when it suits us. The game has not yet been called Halo 5 by any official source so until it is, we should not label the page as Halo 5. Rather, we should use an official name. The way I see it, we either go by the trailer and do as Bioniclepluslotr said, calling it Halo (2014), or we go by 343 and MS and call it Halo Xbox One. Personally I'd go with the trailer as the term "Halo Xbox One" is likely to differentiate this title from Halo Combat Evolved.--Soul reaper (talk) 09:44, 11 June 2013 (EDT)
I agree. If they aren't calling it Halo 5, then we shouldn't be either. The page should be appropriately renamed to Halo Xbox One as that's the name they are currently using. Could always be a working title, but right now it's the best we have.--Spartacus Talk • Contribs 11:15, 11 June 2013 (EDT)
- Makes sense as per policy. Is someone going to rename the article? Bioniclepluslotr 13:18, 11 June 2013 (EDT)
- All right, you guys have convinced me. It looks like we have a consensus here. Do we need a vote? If not, let's go ahead and change the page to Halo (Xbox One).--Weeping Angel (talk) 09:53, 12 June 2013 (EDT)
Several 343i employees were tweeting "Halo 5" and "sequel." This is obviously Halo 5 with just "Halo Xbox One" as a working title but it is in fact apart of the Reclaimer Trilogy and a sequel to Halo 4. --ADinoSupremacist (talk) 19:43, 12 June 2013 (EDT)
- Then the sources should be indicated in the article. Imrane-117 (talk) 20:30, 12 June 2013 (EDT)
It's weird, but I agree that we should follow what the developers seem to indicate is the best possible designation and avoid wiki speculation. It's possible that Microsoft marketing wants to promote the Xbox One so much that they want to abandon mention of previous Halo games. --Dragonclaws(talk) 18:34, 13 June 2013 (EDT)
- A few days ago, Killamint posted this link which indicated that "the final title will be announced later", but it looks like it has been removed... Imrane-117 (talk) 18:50, 13 June 2013 (EDT)
Per the Latest Halo Bulletin, Halo Xbox One is the working title: The Halo Bulletin: 6.19.13

First appearances
Why is the Forerunner machine listed as a first appearance? If it's a Seeker or a War sphinx it's not a first appearance. I think we should wait declaring this as such until we have some sort of confirmation. Similarly with the planet. It may be a first appearance. It may not.We don't know --Weeping Angel (talk) 20:08, 10 June 2013 (EDT)
- If it's confirmed as a War Sphinx, that tag would be removed, but this is the first appearance of a giant Promethean bird mech thing. Alex T Snow (talk) 21:34, 10 June 2013 (EDT)
- Isn't it regardless the first appearance of such technology in the games?Ocean Soul (talk) 22:21, 10 June 2013 (EDT)
- Well, it would be in the games, but it was mentioned in the Greg Bear books. Does that count as a first appearance? --Weeping Angel (talk) 22:49, 10 June 2013 (EDT)
- I agree, as it was done for characters preseted in the books, if this machine is a sphinx then it would not be its first appearance. PS: it's me or it reminds a bit of a reaper of me mixed to chtullu?

I have a better image of the Forerunner machine that shows it clearly has legs. I don't know how to upload it, but I have it here: http://s283.photobucket.com/user/specter_wulf/media/ForerunnerMachine_zps17d29750.jpg.html Ocean Soul (talk) 15:44, 16 June 2013 (EDT)
Should the "planet" and it's "moon" be listed as a first appearance? If it turns out to be Installation 00 - which the "moon" looks like the planetoid in the center - then it certainly isn't the first appearance. I understand that at such a time that information is known the tags will be amended, but should we assume it's a first appearance with little to nothing to go off?Ocean Soul (talk) 13:25, 13 June 2013 (EDT)
The Planet in the background is it just me or does he looks like Threshold? So that could mean that John is on BAsis, but thats only my theory so. 93.197.122.96 17:47, 13 June 2013 (EDT)
@ Ocean Soul: Exactly! We don't know if these are first appearances or not. I think we should wait on calling them that, until we have confirmed information, just like we would with anything else, and just like we don't want to call it Halo 5. It's not confirmed that it's new, so don't call it that. --Weeping Angel (talk) 22:22, 13 June 2013 (EDT)

IT IS NOT HALO 5. I nominate for this article to be deleted until further notice or an official announcement that Halo 5 is actually coming up.
User:Nusent 17:50, 2 July 2013 (EDT)
- Hence why the article is called "Halo Xbox One." The article you cite still points out it's an actual game.--Hawki (talk) 18:19, 2 July 2013 (EDT)

- Not Halo 5 or Halo 2 Anniversary? I've got no ideas on what this is going to be :/ Alex T Snow (talk) 21:56, 3 July 2013 (EDT)
- The game could be Halo 5, it's just not announced yet. The trailer was merely there to announce the coming of the franchise to Xbox One and let the fans speculate. It could also be something else, but at this point it's barely possible to imagine what that would be. Imrane-117 (talk) 08:55, 4 July 2013 (EDT)
- Imrane, The article that Nusent linked states that "Halo Xbox One" is NOT "Halo 5". did you not read the article before stating what you did? 1-10 (talk) 12:37, 5 July 2013 (EDT)
- And they're using big words for nothing. They keep repeating that "the game is not Halo 5", etc. but Spencer never said anything about that. Read the original IGN interview here. The only reason why they didn't reveal the name was because the trailer was just to announce the franchise's arrival on Xbox One. It could be Halo: spin-off blabla as well as Halo 5, we just don't know anything yet. Imrane-117 (talk) 21:46, 5 July 2013 (EDT)
- Oh, a trailer for the universe as a whole, not anything specific, that makes sense. Alex T Snow (talk) 17:42, 6 July 2013 (EDT)

Halo 5 leak
Should we mention the supposed leak of Halo 5 at the Microsoft Meeting in the article? Pokebub (talk) 15:41, 9 July 2013 (EDT)
- No. Bioniclepluslotr 11:27, 5 August 2013 (EDT)
Plot "leak"
The plot posted on the Microsoft Store has been confirmed as an error made by a "hapless employee" by Frankie, and has since been removed from the site. I would suggest we remove it, as it does not represent anything from the Halo Xbox One plotline, and is an error. Just so we aren't misleading anyone. :) --TentacleTornado 05:44, 31 August 2013 (EDT)
Done. Ok, so maybe don't always use the DMR anymore. That two shot-melee is pretty good. This is craZboy557, signing off. 06:23, 31 August 2013 (EDT)
Amazon Pre-order
I just noticed that this is available for pre order on Amazon. How should we incorporate this into the article? Should we, even? I can't show the link, because the spam filter won't let me, but if you search for "Halo Xbox One" on Amazon you can see what I mean. --Weeping Angel (talk) 21:18, 19 April 2014 (EDT)
- Pre-order offers ahead of the actual release is quite common. In fact, it is so common that it's trivial to even list it in the article. Unless there's any special announcement alongside the pre-order, I would suggest not putting it in the article.— subtank 07:50, 20 April 2014 (EDT)
- What about the release date mentioned? Should we include that? Seeing as it is unconfirmed by 343i, probably not, right? --Weeping Angel (talk) 08:33, 20 April 2014 (EDT)
- Right on the money. :) — subtank 08:35, 20 April 2014 (EDT)
- Okay! I just figured I should mention this, just in case it was valuable. :)
- It's still good to know, for us people that read talk pages; more info is always good, it just doesn't always go in the article. If it was any other date I'd consider supporting adding it, but we've always known it's coming out sometime this year, so the date being the very last day possible is obviously a placeholder. Logo Image doesn't show up
I noticed that the image "File:Halo5 Logo onDark CMYK Final.jpg" doesn't show up (x in the box indicating an error w/ the image). I tried reloading it and nothing shows up. Anyone else have this issue?--Killamin7 [Comm|Files] 12:56, 16 May 2014 (EDT)

(Indent reset) Here you go:
This is on my work computer using IE8. My computer at home is doing the same thing but I don't think that I have IE11 at home, maybe IE9 or 10. I'll have to check when I get home. So maybe the older browers can't handle the output of the image. The only work around for now is GC. I can't install the latest IE browser on my work computer (I'm sure everyone knows why).--Killamin7 [Comm|Files] 08:35, 20 May 2014 (EDT)

Digital feature and TV series connections
Does anyone happen to have sources linking Halo 5 to Spielberg's and Ridley Scott's respective projects? I could swear I've seen that info somewhere, at least in relation to Scott's digital feature (which looks like it's shaping up to be the Forward Unto Dawn equivalent for our new ONI character). If they do exist, it'd be nice to have the connections mentioned on the page. --Jugus (Talk | Contribs) 00:58, 19 May 2014 (EDT)
