John-117 exits the vehicle in an M12 Warthog.

This heavy wheeled vehicle (suggested to be called the "Mammoth" [1]) used by the United Nations Space Command. It is much larger than the M313 Elephant, a heavy recovery vehicle with a similar role that was used throughout the Human-Covenant War by the UNSC Marine Corps.

Background

It is a six-wheeled (6x6) vehicle and presumably fills a role very similar to the Marine Corps' M313 Elephant as a dual-role command and support and heavy recovery vehicle. Albeit much larger, it features an internal bay used to store and deploy much smaller vehicles such as the M12 Warthog light reconnaissance vehicle and the M274 Mongoose all terrain vehicle which can exit the vehicle through a ramp at the front. The vehicle sports a structure, possibly a turret, on the topside and two large openings towards the back, as well as two smaller ones near the vehicle's cockpit. It is generally painted in a paint scheme similar to camel brown.

History

Operational use

Many of these vehicles were used by the UNSC Infinity's Marine contingent on Requiem in Summer 2557. During the vessels' approach into the shield world, at least two of these vehicles destroyed surrounding areas of the hangar bay, presumably damaging them.
