::It's probably the inclusionist in me speaking, but I find a certain charm in having articles about obscure subjects that don't really matter in the usual sense, but exist solely for the sake of documenting every bit of info there is so that people might look at it and take it as an example of how ludicrously comprehensive this wiki is. Besides, I fail to see the detriment in having articles such as this one - they don't take up much space, and can at worst make people go "Seriously? They have an article for something like this?" I guess it's ultimately a matter of perspective though. --Jugus (Talk | Contribs) 13:20, 13 May 2012 (EDT)

:Oh I have no problem with obscurity, provided there's real content shown in the article. Indeed, it saddens me that there aren't articles for, say, the girl Marine at the beginning of Metropolis, since there wouldn't be anything significant to add aside from "She is voiced by Michelle Rodriguez", "She is one of the only two female Marines in Halo 2", & "She is not a wimp, unlike her fellow Rocket-wielding Marine." This specific lieutenant is about the same importance as, say, the Grunt who gets scared by the Pelicans at the beginning of The Covenant (level). I have no problem with obscurity, it's just there nothing significant about this guy. He just presses a button and gets killed. Deletion discussion

Personally, I don't see why this page should be deleted any more than the countless other similar articles. Yes, he is just a redshirt but at least he has a moment of actual screen time and a line of dialog, unlike, for example, Unidentified lieutenant (Battle of Mombasa). This article is also fairly meaty compared to many others, having an image and at least some text - there's a lot of pages which only have one or two sentences. --Jugus (Talk | Contribs) 08:47, 13 May 2012 (EDT)

Actually, that's another article I would suggest for deletion. There are some redshirts who are worth having their own article, like Checkman, for instance. The Mombasa lieutenant, however, doesn't even have lines, a face, or a name, and this Apex guy has only one generic line: "It's active!" Checkman, on the other hand, actually has a name, a unique appearance, and dialogue. The only reason why this article's meaty is because a lot has been scrounged out of it, but there's little real content. Tuckerscreator(stalk) 12:19, 13 May 2012 (EDT)
It's probably the inclusionist in me speaking, but I find a certain charm in having articles about obscure subjects that don't really matter in the usual sense, but exist solely for the sake of documenting every bit of info there is so that people might look at it and take it as an example of how ludicrously comprehensive this wiki is.
